  2. An update The 2 stroke rideout is leaving squires at 2pm, as you know it's a 2 hour ride to seaways and as I'm on a slow bike and 'running in' to boot I'll be leaving more like 12 myself...I think some others may do the same...It'll be getting dark at 7ish and I dont want none of that with my glow worm headlight!
  3. The last one I used was EBC, I can't see a big company like them fiddling with the specifications...why not give Yambits a ring and have a chat with them about this issue? http://yambits.co.uk/dt175mx-ebc-clutch-plate-kit-p-9119.html

  13. Greetings melvin yeah 'mike n bernie'...two of the worst winters this country ever had to endure!
  14. I've tried various exhausts aftermarket exhausts were made by several manufacturers over the years, of course being a 35 year old model they were mostly withdrawn from production personally I have found that the performance of the original pipe is hard to beat, I say remove the restrictor in yours
  15. maybe with the 26mm carb, the head wont add any though.
  16. Greetings Trev and
  17. Not sure about the carb, you will have to measure it using some inside calipers but the exhaust has a restrictor tube, I know this because I just bought one myself, I use a dremel speedclick arbor and the smallest cutting disc they supply for it...even then you may have to wear it down a bit in order to gain access looks like the pint is mine then This is the sort of thing you'll find, you can see the end of the tube in this pic although the 2A8 has a longer tube so you'll need a torch
  18. Cheers bip best keep it under wraps kev
  19. some of the early 125cc bikes had a 22mm carb venturi and the later ones a 24mm vanturi which is better, what is the number stamped into your carb Tom ? Also mr Yamaha had a thing about fitting smaller diameter inserts into the exhaust header pipe, what is the number stamped into your exhaust and have you checked the header, I suggested this earlier but you didnt respond ? It's not advisable to run without an air filter on a long term basis
  20. Thanks dirtydt yeah she's looking good, not been out yet I've spent a lot of time getting her sorted so I had to take the mrs out she's been stuck in all weekend. I'm hoping the weather holds and I can get out a few evenings this week but it maybe from wednesday, I've also put a 26mm carb on so I'm tinkering with jetting at the moment. yeah eddie I took the plunge in the end after a bad experience ascending a bloody steep hill (wynatts pass) in Derbyshire in June, got some horrendous pinking and watched the temperature gauge indication fairly rocket in short order! and I'm pretty sure the jetting was right at that time so maybe the offset squish was the culprit after all?
  21. It's done IT175 head, heas a better combustion area Cant wait to get out!
