nice I suspect the DTX's days are numbered now
  12. There may be no filters in the tap, if it has an obvious bowl there shoud be, either way you need to sort this issue though. I do have to ask you this though..........when you reported a poor flow earlier when torned to ON..........you DID have lots of fuel in the tank eh....eh....eh??? Just looked in my manual, theres only the filters in the tank;)
  13. well if the filters are clean and you have a poor flow on main supply, then something's blocked in the tap, so either clean it again untill it's fixed or replace it
  14. I'm more concerned about the fuel delivery right now, just back out the mixture screw to 1 1/2 turns for now and sort out the fuel delivery, there are often 2 screens, one is inside of the tank and will need the tap to be unscrewed off to get at it, the other is often inside of the bowl of the tap isnt there a hexagon 10mm at the bottom of the bowl? *** IMPORTANT*** Always use a 6 point socket here unless the bowl comes off easily, dont force it or you'll risk rounding off the soft metal
  15. you might not need a new tap Hitch, maybe the filter screen in the bowl is dirty, or one of the tubes that go inside of the petrol tank (part of the tap) This problem will have contributed quite a lot to all of your troubles I'd say

  20. Airhead replied to fawzi963's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
yes the oil light should be on in neutral, it's a bulb check feature. Check your bulb if yours doesnt work. First gear should always be an easy change, sometimes neutral is a little more difficult. I'd check the clutch adjustment for this
  21. maybe its very similar to the DT175 unit? have a look at this, check out the plugs / sockets and wire colours and the switches http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-DT175-1978-81-LH-Handlebar-Switch-QS3H7-/321174749794?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item4ac781c262#ht_3863wt_721

dunno about the possibilities but be aware that if you raise it significantly it will lean over very heavily on the stand!
  24. send an enquiry to Fowlers, state the year / model [email protected]
  25. no if the right side works it wont be a fuse, try squirting some WD40 into the switch and switch it on/off many times to see if it clears any bad contact, Have a look at any wiring plug/sockets too, clean them up and spray those too
