  6. Jim, 1.25 inches is around 31.5mm
  7. Have you looked at youth hostels? ...They even have 240V power sockets
  8. This is my latest offering, it uses the negative half cycles from the magneto, i dont think the first attempt would work, with this one you wouvd connect the positive centre pin to bike chassis and the socket outer to -12v fuse, i am not an electronics expert so any comments will be welcome
  9. Bummer! i am really sorry to hear that Ewan.
  10. Worth checking Merv, ive been looking at my idea and its not good, I think the foamy one is looking to use a cigarette lighter socket adapter for his gadgets though. If you are right it would be easier to chop the 12v units and wire up to new socket via a fuse to bike battery.
  11. The mag will give out more than 6v as the revs increase, for example the mag on a 12v bike will give 50v at high revs...its the regulator that holds these voltages down, i dont know what the mag on the 6v bike will give, neither do i know of anyone doing this, or indeed if it would work, but that'd be the way i would try.
  12. You need a seperate circuit as your battery is held at 6V, I dont know if this could be done and the drawing has turned out crap, but if you have an understanding of electrical engineering, my thoughts are this, obviously it will only work when the output from the magneto is above 12v
  13. You cant do it with a transformer as such, what you will have to do is use another rectifier diode and a 12v regulator connected in parallel to your existing 6v units
  14. so thats the love of your life, That reminds me, there was a post about one of them, something like was it worth doing it up, Drewpy answered it there was a picture and it was a blue one, Just a thought that it might be worth finding the post and contacting the guy who posted it, in case he decided to break it!!
  15. usa, y'know uncle sam....America (The clue was in the dollar sign), yes you might even have to shop that far away unless youre lucky!
  16. One last job before you resort to carb strip, spray around the carb manifold area with easy start, see if the engine speed changes...Leaks test!!
  17. Ive got a drawing from where you said, the reg/rectifier has a plug socket, the wire colours in the plug will be,White, Red,yellow/Red, and Black. so if you find a plug hanging around with these colours then thats where it should be.
  18. Hi smurf, dont suppose youve got a wiring diag have you?
  19. Hi Les, Check spark plug gap, better still try new plug, then make sure pilot air screw is set right for your bike, following this it could be carb trouble.
  20. Dont know it but in the event you cant find one...Van Van?
  21. I PM'd you mine and offered to do this for you!
