  1. Theres one Here its not too bad a price as described in good condition, most are pretty poor condition!
  2. Looks to me like the carb is a DellOrto Type PHBN 16 NS/1 with a standard mainjet of #88 Go to your local yamaha agent and order the next two sizes up on this size
  3. That will make it richer but only in the mid range, you should get the main jet right before you look at needle height
  4. Take a look at your main jet, note the number of it and also the general size and shape of it, then have a word with Steve at motocarb, tell him what youve got now and why you want a bigger jet, see what he suggests, if its a new exhaust it will be 1 maybe 2 sizes bigger i expect
  5. Clear lenses are ok if you can get them, you fit amber coloured bulbs inside.
  6. A quick google tels me 2A2 is an XS400
  7. Open a photobucket account Upload your pics there with each pic you will see four fields Copy the IMG field Paste into the forum
  8. that is why youre lifting the needle a notch as well
  9. Hi Louis and welcome to the forum, 180cc, thats funny i thought they were 175cc (a true 171cc)!!
  10. You wont be able to plug chop until youve run in your new barrel, so just put the bigger jet in, start at two sizes up and also try lifting needle one notch, then when its run in you can plug chop to see if its right
  11. Jets?...no Jet, singular , main jet theres only one, its in the middle below where the needle is.
  12. Ok theres some burring at the end, have a look and a feel around the area of the collet groove, run a fine file round the top of the valve if you find burring
  13. Here is a view of your valves, the springs are held by collets but i expect you know this as you will have removed them, check you valve stems are clean and not worn and fit new valve stem seals upon re assembly after you have done the grinding in
  14. I dont get this thread! If the valve seals are leaking there will be huge amounts of smoke out of the exhaust, there has been no mention of this, also if it were valve seals, how do you get oil on the engine sincce it will all end up in the exhaust? I think were looking a gaskets here!!
  15. I have an idea, can you post pics of the offending bolt and linkage from both sides?
  16. Great news Steve, glad you havent damaged it, now buy or borrow a thread file and scrape that shite ouf of the threads on the nut, you wont get it out properly without one and it will end up jammed on again.
  17. Riding with it undone is not an option really, you cant risk it and performance will be bad as well
  18. erm, i think i did mis-understand yes, i assumed that it was the usual method of connection. If youve got that thing cross threaded youre in for trouble, you fitted a new barrel yes, so try it back on the old one, if it goes back on the old one there must be some imperfection on the thread of the new one and you will need to sort it out possibly with a thread file. If it doesnt go back on the old one you may have crossed it trying it on the new one which is V Bad news because you cannot remove it from the pipe if i'm right!
  19. either run a tap down the nut or fit a new nut...and...run a die nut down the stud! There is another option,..Remove the offending stud and fit a new one or saw the head off a bolt and fit that, its risky though because you might shear if off and then youre in deep sh1t so unless it moves easily leave well alone!
  20. Nice one OT, thats the trouble with problems like this one, it was running ok with that fuel in before you changed the oil!!
  21. i'm gonna hit the ground running with that then, sounds like a plan!!
