    Just passed!

Hi Parkey5 and welcome to the YOC. wow! you sure took the fast track route to an R6. Good advise from shokz there its important to keep the chain clean and well lubed in wet weather and especially salty roads...better still when the roads are wet and salty leave the bike alone and stick with the car, a big ask as they say, especially to a new convert...ride safely and enjoy the R6
  3. Fully synthetic oil is rumoured (has a reputation) as causing clutch slip, personally I would use a semi synthetic oil. I must add though that I have no personal experience of this problem.
  4. Hi Mikey, not seen much of you lately, thought youd bought a car or summat so youll pop in now and again until June eh? Shokz has a Honda hornet too and he didnt give up on us Enjoy your new bike Mikey, ride safe matey and dont forget where we are eh.

    Damn bikes!!

What overflow? if you mean one of the carbs give the one in question a tap with the butt of a hammer shaft just in case the float has somehow stuck. On another note, hasnt this bike got a vacuum operated fuel tap? if so this isnt doing its job because thare should be no flow with the engine stopped
  6. Yep, whoever did that removed the washer in order to have enough threads left to hold the jet securely.

Welcome to the forum Leigh, good luck with the search, the only thing I can say is go to the DVLA website and there you can check if its taxed or sorned, at least you would know if its still operational then. You might also find this interesting Here
  8. Nice one Drewpy , youve done yours and i'm still thinking about doing mine
  9. Dunno mate, I would do my own..... get quotes from different places, it would be cheaper to take the wheels in one at a time if youre up to the job, dont forget though...it doesnt have to be a dealer to fit the tyres, any bike shop would do it so shop around for the best quotes.
  10. This was a recent quote from m&p, send them a message and see if these will do for your bike, The Avon Distanza is a road tyre for trail bikes. Front: Price: £31.99 Pt No. 506240 Description: 80/90S21 AM43 T/L Front Rear: Price: £38.99 Pt No. 506244 Description: 410S18 AM44 T/L Rear
  11. so its got fuel in the tank then? for all i know it could be empty...you havent said
  12. is it out of petrol by any chance?
  13. Thought I would bring this to your attention in case any of our members want to attend. The mother of a soldier killed in Afghanistan has made an appeal for people to take part in a motorcycle cavalcade at his funeral in Somerset. Cpl Tom Gaden's body was brought back to RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire on 3 March. The 24-year-old 1 Rifle soldier will have a military funeral on 16 March and the plan is for motorbikes to follow the procession. Judy Gaden, from Taunton, said her son was a biking enthusiast and would have loved a farewell of bikes. Gordon Kemp, ex-traffic policeman who taught Cpl Gaden how to ride, has joined in a public appeal to other enthusiasts. "The more we can do, the more we can honour Tom. "I am calling on employers to allow motorcyclists just to nip out for an hour," he said. Funeral Appeal

    Hello!

A belated hello and welcome HC, not lurking any more eh?
  15. As Blackhat says, you really need to check the bulb properly, either using a multi meter or by connecting it with some leads to your battery terminals, when youre looking for faults its better to have concrete proof than "looks ok"
  16. Heres my key, PM me your email address if you want a copy of photo.
  17. I will take a picture of my key this evening, maybe your mum / dad will be able to see it on the forum if its the right style.
  18. Welcome to the YOC forum Donald
  19. 1. Blue is live when key is ON position yes. 2, yes it does but answer (3) will hopefully explain further 3. You havent looked at the info you have already been given. In the owners manual that Yamagod sent you, page 24 of 112 " NOTE, When the engine is started the headlight and meter lights come on automatically and the lights stay on until the main switch is turned OFF even if the engine stalls" 4. I think it means Pilot Only, you can switch the headlight off in this position ...Paul
  20. Sorry i dont know, but if it were me i'd be going up just one size jets are cheap and if your up to doing it yourself it'll cost very little...dont expect major difference in power though. You could also consider getting advice from arrow exhausts, see if they have a 'contact us' email address and ask for their advice.
  21. James, you keep asking the same question, I already said get a 10% bigger than standard and try that. There is one thing you can do meantime and thats check your mixture screw setting, it might possibly need to be turned clockwise about 1/2 turn, this will richen the mixture slightly at up to around 1/2 throttle openings. ...Paul
  22. They are slow compared with DT's, but its worth getting a bigger jet for it, ask your Yamaha dealer to get you the next size up from standard, it wontt make it a fast bike though i'm afraid.
  23. Hi there, it might be worth your while to have a look Here
