  1. What type of filter is it? is it the corrugated paper type? if so try blowing it clean with compressed air, or replace it!
  2. Nice find you got there and what a bargain, those thing fetch good money here. I'm intrigued by your use of the term vac hose, there isnt a single pipe on that bike that is a vac hose. There should be tube from the oil tank to the oil pump at the front right of the engine, also another tube exits the pump and goes to the carb spigot A black rubber tube from the fuel tap to the carb. The gearbox breather tucks away down between the back of the engine and the swing arm pivot The carb breather and also carb overflow tubes also likewise the above That just about covers it if the oil tank is empty and you are using the oil pump be sure to remove the bleed screw when you fill the tank until the bubbles stop, then hold the pulley fully open for a while as the engine idles, this will get oil to the carb quickly, I suggest using clear tube from oil pump to carb so that you can see that oil is there. ...Paul
  3. Not so, its a copper gasket so heat it with a blowlamp, (anneal it), then re-use it, I have done this many times without any problems.

  5. the same DT you are / were going round Ireland on?
  6. Hi Matt Yes Cynic is referring to the cylinder base gasket, it does need to be in good condition as a 2 stroke engine uses crancase compression to transfer fuel / air into the combustion chamber, if that gasket were bad then crancase compression would be less than ideal. you would not however leak oil in any noticeable amount because the oil is a trace quantity mixed with the fuel in this part of the engine. ...Paul
  7. Sorry to hear this...Try M&P, they do replacement levers for lots of bikes, they will also sell indicators I think but if you go for led ones you will need to buy the correct relay also, or maybe check out ebay. ...Paul

  13. As for the marks, they may be centre at TDC or they may be ignition timing marks, centre at correct timing and the others at acceptable + or - from correct. you can usually feel for TDC through the spark plug hole with something like a terminal screwdriver, this will show what these marks are. The carburettor, sounds like something is loose, maybe the float needle valve has somehow dropped into the bowl, hard to comment really but it looks like you will have to investigate further
  14. For Foamy I guess that would be too much info... ...
