A picture would help, see FAQ's for pics. The pilot screw on these 2 strokes is normally an air screw and sutuated towards the back of the carb, not the front.
  5. Hi Johnny, welcome to the forum. The bike looks great for its age, a bit of a sickener this happened twice. have a read of this post Here for and idea how to pressure test your engine. I would also advise a bit of plug chopping to see whats going on here. From experience I find that the inlet manifolds dont seal well against the reed cage due to the in-built o-ring becoming flattened, they need a little extra help using a bead of silicone gasket sealer at this point, also they can split on the underside so have a visual inspaction here. What sort of trim is the bike in, is it totally standard with a good air filter fitted clean and oiled? ...Paul
  6. looks like a boat anchor, must therefore be a Jawa.
  7. Youre checking the wrong place, its not at the CDI connections its the four way multi connector from the magneto, a white plastic connector that would be the place to check, in fact it will be the same place you checked the spare magneto.
  8. No its not ok, the specs have been given earlier. You are checking the connector that goes back to the magneto arent you?

I’m Paul and I’m 31 years old, I know some of you lot think I’m older than that but actually I’ve been living a bit of a lie, you see I only chose that silly user name moniker so that I could join in Blackhat250’s posts about Garelli mopeds, my dad used to go on about those things all the time so I just learned about them through listening to him, I just thought It would do no harm and at the time it made me feel that I actually knew something about motorbikes…anyway, sorry guys, hope youre not mad with me… Paul

  18. Hi, not familiar with model but does it have a side stand switch? If so, disconnect it and short out the connectors with a piece of wire and try again, or check the switch with a multi meter. ...Paul

  20. Hi Andus...Looks like you forgot to check the thermostat.. I dont know the bike but there will be a thermostat, this is closed when cold and opens up when hot to allow water flow to the radiator. The old way of ckecking them used to be to immerse them in a pan of water on the stove and witness them open up when the water gets hot. also they sometimes have the operating temperature stamped on them somewhere. so you can use a thermometer to check they work at this temperature. If its no good you may be able to run the bike without it until you get a new one. ...Paul

  24. Hi Phil, It does sound like the piston is a bit small then, however they are in fact tapered so you must measure at the bottom (skirt), I know you say you did but... The only other way is to get a micrometer and a bore gauge to check one against the other.
