  1. I dunno the bike, but if its a well documented fault why not drill and tap for a grease nipple, thats what I do on troublesome bearings.
  2. Trawling is acceptable practice, Trolling however is to be discouraged...
  3. Dont know whether you did this, but while the wheel and brakes are out, never miss an opportunity to grease the brake cam pivot that passes through the backplate
  4. When replacing drum brake shoes you will often find a raised edge just before the shiny silver braking surface. This is residue from old shoes and water that has baked on the edge of the drum. If you do not remove this raised edge with emery paper when you fit the new shoes, they will catch on it and rock slightly on their pivots until the back edge contacts the brake drum. The upshot of all this is a wheel stiff to turn and at worst a cooked clutch. Fraid you better sort this out as well as your engine trouble. ...Paul
  5. Thats sh1t, the builderes any builders merchant worth their salt would be storing that indoors, you should have taken it back...after all you paid a premium price for that and now youre paying more. It should be a free flowing powder.

  8. you may find that if you cover the hole where you think the screw is missing with your finger when its revving crazy, the revs will drop right down, this would rather conferm your suspicions.
  9. dunno, how about a hot air gun and wire brush? easy on the brush if theyre ally though...
  10. Boys and their toys eh Looks like a spot blaster, you need to remove the big plastic nozzle and collection bag now, heres mine with them removed. then get some kiln dried sand from your builders merchants and run a tube into the sand instead of the on board container (for large items)

  14. Welcome to the forum UncleSol...
  15. From experience I would not advise you to try to drill out sawed off studs, Its a bloody minefield trying to do by hand and a head off job to do otherwise, better to dremmel the nuts off somehow and then remove the studs after heating with a blowlamp....BUT personally although I dont know for sure I'll admit, but I doubt if the baby drag has restrictors as it wont be a powerful engine to start with so would all be just a waste of time if that's the case.
  16. Dont forget to open throttle wide when compression testing.
  17. Aahh!! the wonders of Google
  18. try a spray of the HT lead and plug cap with WD40 as well.
