  5. Newer versions of oxford hotgrips are supposed to shut off if they are inadvertantly left switched on, I think this is when the battery voltage dies down somewhat, Quote their website "To prevent the battery of the vehicle from being discharged when the engine of the vehicle is turned off, the Heat Controller has sophisticated software that will automatically switch off all power to the HOTGRIPS before the battery voltage becomes very low. However, the voltage maybe too low to restart the vehicle as it is designed to ensure that the battery is not permanently damaged and can still be recharged. This voltage is set at between 10.5 - 11.0 Volts." So at worst you will need to bump start your bike, which on a 125 shouldnt be too hard. A relay would be the best way if you can be bothered though.Hotgrips Linky
  6. Your petcock is a vacuum operated type if it has a PRI (Read Prime) position. The Prime position should only be used briefly if the fuel has run out completely and the carbs are dry, normally the petcock would be used on th ON and RES (Reserve) positions only. For fuel to have leaked on to your garage floor this means that 1: The vacuum operated petcock is passing fuel 2: The RH carb float needle is also passing fuel ...Paul

Hang on...that is a pretty rare bike and you asked for other owners SPECIFICALLY to reply, perhaps no one owns one, I for one sure dont and after only a couple of days your attitude seems a bit dummy out of pram.
  10. Remove the slide and needle from the carb Note how the cable retainer washer sits with its bent down tab sitting in the cable anchor point, now remove this washer. feed the cable through the carb top and the spring, use your finger and thumb to compress the spring into the carb top. now feed the cable nipple into the keyhole slot and slide it up to the narrow end where it sits in a recess. now replace the washer with its bent tab into the keyhole slot, this tab will prevent the cable end from detaching from the slide. Allow the spring down to the washer inside the slide. Job done...see the picture, trhe green dot is where the cable will be fixed. ...Paul

  15. Sorry mate, dont know about these auto things...could it be something to do with rollers? 59 plate will have warrenty though so why not take it back to the dealer?
  16. No, you connect a socket to your battery and then plug into that (I think), although i've never had them i believe thay are the very best option really but they dont come cheap so what price cold hands? Gas up- lets go (Darren) uses them, do a search and see what he has to say
  17. Good luck on Wednesday derek, Jesus was a boy when I did mine so not much use to you
  18. I suffer from cold hands in winter and like you Kev used to grasp the opportunity of holding onto the cylinder head at every opportunity, Clearly this approach is only any good for uban biking. Nowadays have heated grips fitted, (they are good but heated gloves are better).have also fitted hand guards which deflect the wind and the two bits of kit mean warm hands even on cold days which for me is quite an achievement
  19. They will be the same if the 'porting' is the same. The porting is unlikely to be different but cant say for sure, can you investigate further...ask the manufacturers?
