  2. ok, me and blackhat met up as planned, great to finally meet you John. Had a good day out and drooled over some stunning bikes 'like you do', here's a pic of us sampling the free hospitality at the Jawa owners club stand where the 'wags' were in national costumes. Well that's about it for this year as far as shows go! roll on summer.

But rich running would give black smoke not blue (and rough running), burnt oil gives blue, either from piston / bore wear or valve seals wear.

The large screw is the 'throttle stop, or tickover. or idle adjuster' screw. The small one is the mixture screw and should lie around 1.5 turns out from gently closed. Normally you would expect the following 1: mixture screw too rar clockwise = lumpy idle.(Rich) 2: mixture screw too far anti-clockwise = too fast idle.(Lean) manuals are readily available on ebay (in uk anyhow)

But theres a set of Jog forks on ebay right now, £49 posted...Here It all depends on how much work you want to put in or if youre up to the job, the trouble is factory trained mech are £££'s per hour, did you check round your local smaller bike shops, or can you strip and check the forks yourself, you will need to be pretty competant though, dont attempt it otherwise but you could save money. Having said all this it IS your mates responsibility so dont let him take the piss eh!

Sounds like the starter relay/solenoid to me, as a way of eliminating it try bridging it with a jump lead when its mis-behaving. This is of course depends on whether it has two pillars (connections)

  22. well its almost certainly a blocked pilot jet or a blocked air jet. What affect does running with the choke out have, if its ok now then its a blocked pilot jet, if its still no use then maybe a blocked air jet.
