dt125 overfuelling(?) problem
You should buy a new Float valve, its also worth mentioning here that the float valve seat should sit on a gasket to stop the fual from bypassing the valve. When you have got one fitted do the float height properly. These parts may be less expensive than you think! Give Steve at motocarb a ring Motocarb

dt125 overfuelling(?) problem
I sounds like something is a little twisted, just twist it back straight. From what you say yes the level would be low but this is a big contradiction to what you have already told us. Unless like has been said the valve needs replacing.

dt125 overfuelling(?) problem
just to confirm its a carburation issue, start the bike then switch off the fuel tap, let it run a while to lower the level in the float bowl, then briefly switch it on and back off top top up the fuel in the carb, do this several times... see what effect this has. As for fuel passing a worn float valve...normally you would see fuel pouring from the carb overflow pipe if it was a bad case. What about the choke plunger, is the seating good and are you sure it is closing off properly?

Why do people buy new 125's
I know what you mean Cynic, my first bike was a second hand Honda 125 twin (SS125) with no silencers, fixed it up and put it on the road and i loved that little bike. But things are sadly different now, right from kids being very young and at shool they are judged and bullied by their peers if they wear the wrong clothes etc, they have to conform to the latest fashion to fit in the group...i suppose this rubs off when they are older too. Some however with knowlegeable motorcycling parents may buck this though and for once listen to what dad says. Take heart...look at Foamy and hope there are more like him. But lets not forget that the YZF is a superb looking little bike and its not the manufacturers fault its a four stroke, They do need to sell these bikes after all and they made a great job of the looks...even though the YBR is more my thing.

2_stroke performance

Petrol price experiment
ok so its an idea but the maths is seriously flawed, it assumes that everyone sends this to someone who hasnt recieved it already...so it cant grow anything like the rate as has been suggested. in fact the further it goes on...the harder it will be to 'fluke' someone who has not seen it...pour on that a whole lot of lethargy and...

Carb vent tube leaking
Cross your fingers and give the carbs a tap with the wooden shaft of a hammer, this may just un-stick the float / needle valve and save a carb removal and strip. ...Paul

Stater motor issues DT125RE
Sounds like either a bad battery or more likely a bad connection, look at your chassis connection to the battery negative and also at any chassis connections to the engine or starter motor.

dodgy or just crazy
Dont bid on the speedo though...you'll be disappointed. It's an import.

Red Rose Classic Trials
Had a run out with Vez, went to watch some classic trials action near Todmorden Lancashire. Heres a few pics of the ironmongery, Seems a popular event as there were lots of competitors. http://www.redroseclassictrials.org.uk/index.html Look Foamy...a Jawa Some Heavy metal...a JAP and a BSA The JAP has to be the most interesting bike there IMO, a popular speedway bike in its day and I bet theres not many of them being Trialled http://www.500race.org/Marques/JAP.htm And a TRI - Greeves twin cylinder Just one of a few nice Tiger Cub's Nice to see these old bikes being used

1 Wing mirror
Sure is mate, My DT175 has had one mirror from the day it was assembled, with a plug in the other thread just like the DRZ, seems a LH mirror was an optional extra, speaking of legal though, as far as I know you dont need to have ANY mirrors.

dtr125 jetting
if it has a mikuni flat slide carb then I 'Think' you will find it has a 240 as standard. I would recommend at least a 250 with aftermarket pipes, I've put that in mine and that's only got an aftermarket silencer. maybe it would be wise to buy two..a 250 and a 260 ? Try motocarb ...Paul

88 XT350 Not Starting! HELP!
It wont start with no compression. Take the plug out and put a little oil into the cylinder, this will seal the piston rings and restore compression.

De Restricting my DT125R
thats all cameron, I used a dremel and a cutting wheel, you'll need a small diameter one in order to gain access, wont need to jet up much if you are on a 130 try a 140...see how it goes. Thnx VeZ
