  1. My bike is a 2003 and like I said I was misled into cutting it up, 2003 happens to be quite a late DTR but key to all this is the number stamped in the exhaust so...If its a 3MB-14610 on your bike Dont cut it open Thats useful info Wish i'd have had the benefit of it You can add to this useful info if you tell us the number on the pipe with the half moons in it
  2. Good reply 'satelliteone' but I must challenge you on the term "gutted original pipe" You bike like mine is pre DTRE and so there is nothing to gut in the pipe, it is precisely reading this sort of comment that made me cut open my pipe for nothing, as you can imagine i wasnt pleased. It was me that was gutted not the pipe. However there was a restrictor tube in the neck of the pipe, but removing that can hardly be classed as 'gutted'
  3. How do you know? maybe it ran to 9000 when your mate had it. I thought it was running fine before you bought it! but it was in bits Already confused by what you are not telling us. Can you 'come clean' ...Paul
  4. Are you careful to not spill any around the filler with the fuel pump nozzle? There should be a pipe on that that exits the bike lower down where it wont be an issue
  5. Yep, when using forums it is good etiquette to say a little bit obout youself in your first post before 'picking the brain' of fellow forum users. it is also a good idea to watch the forum names, and decide for example where a DTR should be, cruisers, sportbikes, duel sport, workshop etc etc etc welcome to the forum
  6. Opening up a jet with a paper clip was not a good idea. You should experiment with jets of different sizes. They are not expensive. I would suggest a 220 or a 230. Abra um jacto com um clipe não era uma ideia boa. Deve experimentar com jactos de tamanhos diferentes. Não são caros. Sugeriria uns 220 ou uns 230. ...Paul
  7. Can you turn the wheel when in neutral, in neutral can you push the bike along at will?
  8. OK then let's not waste any time on HELLO 1992 YZ80D Model code: 3MK4 Engine # 3MK 0005101 to 0012000
  9. haha some 'interesting' security measures here guys, would love to see them working in anger on you tube
  10. 60Nm or 43 ft-lb for an XT350 Yes I know its not one of those but its the best I can do
  11. Greetings and welcome Sarah Cold be a connection for a vacuum line, if so the line will come from an inlet manifold, It shouldnt be dripping though but the tap may need repair / overhaul.
  12. welcome mick, nice bike would like to see a pic, the only thing wrong with that model is the fuel tap, the bike shuts down completely shortly after a warning lamp comes on.
  13. Good testimony to a great little bike ric, 300 miles in a day...must have a hell of a comfy seat. YBR...does what it says on the tin
  14. Get yourself a carb balancer gauge set, sometimes called synchronising or sync...ing, bad vibes can occur if the carbs are not in 'harmony' with each other
  15. internal micrometers are hard come by whereas external ones are commonplace. You could either use the piston plus feeler gauge to fill the bore then measure these to find the bore size...or use spring loaded and lockable bore gauges which again are checked using an external micrometer.
  16. Never mind indicators its the mirrors in question here innit?
  17. Have a look in the parts manuals for download that I posted, maybe you can compare part numbers if you can find the relevant bikes.
  18. Welcome Dave of Oldham, fishing on Hollingworth lake when not riding u'r R6.

Having no filter will affect carburation, I think you should fit one or it will run lean, in the mean time try richening by screwing in the mixture screw, try 1/2 a turn out from closed for example but get an air filter fitted.
  20. Keep a check on the oil level
  21. Sorry i couldnt make it Drewpy, would loved to have seen that BSA and watched the trials
  22. Sorry i'm not familiar with the specific bike, Has something come loose, check exhaust connections, is the exhaust corroded and blowing anywhere ? is it a points ignition system, maybe new point and capacitor (condenser) are needed, also check ignition timing.
