		dt175 sticking clutch

clean the steel plates with some scotchbrite,, just wipe the friction plates, brush oil on them when re-assembling. Take note that the little 'pips' on the edge of the steel plates are 72 degrees from each other 360 degs / 5 plates = 72 degrees. This will prevent unnecessary vibration

The saga of my DT175MX 1981 rough running over 4500rpm

Wow David you are having fun eh? Looks to me like you just about tried everything...one thing springs to mind though..what silencer are you using? is it aftermarket? can it be stripped and cleaned / re-packed etc? I'm wondering if there could be some carbon build up / blockage in there Neddle jet 4JC? a typo?, 4J6 I know from experience that silencer packing too tight or old and crusty will badly affect performance

yeah you need a new carb float valve (and seating gasket), however you should be able to start it if you open the fuel tap for just long enough to get fuel into the carb and then close it again?

		dt 125 engine rattle

the top of the piston always measures less than the bottom ., because the top gets hottest and it's to allow for expansion. To check piston you should measure it at the bottom and compare to Yamaha specifications in the workshop manual
