  11. The indicators work as they should The relay works too I'd try cleaning the switch contacts, it's the only thing unique to hazard warning lights, maybe even a spray of WD40 will do it?
  12. yeah although the pic is only a thumbnail it does look a bit ragged, 90psi though, not great but not the worst either

    Yamaha DT 175

I suspect this was was what happened At sometime in the past the indicators were not working, the MOT tester had a rule that if they were fitted they must work, fair enough...so just remove them and that's OK you might think...well yes indeed, if the tester was a reasonable person that was just the case, but unfortunately some of em were 'jobsworth' types and would have gladly seen you saw off the brackets as well!!!! have a look at this you'll get the idea, and do your own research looking at images of DT175 frame http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-DT175-DT-175-FULL-UNCUT-MAIN-FRAME-all-tabs-straight-EZ-REG-MN-PAPERS-/221941620909?hash=item33acc060ad:g:o8UAAOSw4UtWSHfn
  14. I would stick with the standard one, they aren't the most modern of engines so a big fancy carb would be wasted on them I would think
  15. the keystone ring will be thinner at the inside diameter and thicker at the outside diameter and so the top ring groove will taper to accommodate that If you put the bottom ring in the top groove it will not seat fully, it will stick out a little from the side of the piston see here, and note from the link that 'N' faces up when fitted http://www.golfcarnews.com/technically-speaking-mayjune-2008/
  16. Not sure about the N mark but usually the bottom groove is parallel and the top one is a keystone section so look at your piston rings and fit them appropriately
  17. yeah just change the head gasket but cast your eye over the head while its off looking for warpage or cracks...it's most likely ok though, especially if you find the gasket is a crappy one

  19. you should stop riding it , the head gasket has gone or one of those shit steel gaskets was fitted, get a proper Yamaha gasket fitted, they have a tin black rubber coating. If you ride it you are risking more damage!
  20. do the cdi plugs and sockets look in good order?
  21. RS200? I think parts are hard to find, not a popular bike!
