  1. Greetings ian I hope that one day the romance with your bike will blossom and you have many happy times together
  2. nahh you cant just paddle the bike between your legs, there is no 'strength' there...you really need a hill or better still some mates, if 2nd gear always locks the wheel use 3rd. Tip also it,s better to stand on the footrests until the exact point the clutch is released, then sit down with a 'bump' this will give extra grip at the tyre at this instant...and hence the term 'bump start' All this trying to start the bugger has probably washed away the oil from the cylinder and so will result in less compression which will make starting difficult if you can, add about 10cc of oil down the plug hole when you get it out, this will re-seal the piston rings to bore also i think the bump start is your best bet but make sure there is plenty of fuel in the tank
  3. maybe try a bump start, can you get some friends to give you a push?...2nd gear
  4. by the way ian...you didnt run out of fuel by any chance? is there a reserve position on the tap? charge the battery anyway if you have a charger, always a good bet if prolonged use of an electric starter
  5. very nice john, how about a pic ,
  6. perhaps you flooded it, take the spark plug out and leave it out overnight (bike covered of course) try again later. Dont forget an intro...good manners and all that!
  7. Greetings Jason please leave this section for an intro and perhaps a bit of banter, post your question in the appropriare forum...perhaps classics?
  8. By the way the pulley doesnt have a diamond shaped recess, the valves with the diamond shaped connections enabled a restricted position to be set (see my de-restricting topic), however there are valves that have parallel sided connections that fit the pulley snugly and cannot be set in a restricted position
  9. wow they are bloody expensive, trouble is the numbers sold in the first place perhaps?
  10. not sure what you mean there ollie? normally you wouldnt premix if you had a working pump, however as its a first run yes you could premix a little in the first tankfull but expect a fair bit of smoke if you do. Myself I wouldnt bother but I would confirm the pump operation straight away by disconnecting from the carb and holding the pump pulley full open with my hand while idling
  11. NEV I assume in the first pic that parts 19, 20 and 21 are there to lock the PV in a suitable position for riding and hold it steady. I would think you need the parts 17, 18, 19, 20 etc from the second diagram
  12. LOL PMSL LMFAO WTF
  13. lol yes its a slow thing but it sure fits the 'quirky' billing...enjoy it James, looks like you have a real rarity there
