Carburettor mounting rubbers
Peter, not familiar with the bike but are they entirely rubber and fixxed at both ends by circular clips, or are they bonded to a metal plate where they meet the cyl head and thus bolted there ?

Starting Problem
andrew i'm on my lunchbreak, cant wait long for replies!
-
Starting Problem
so it will either need priming by whatever means was given by yamaha or you will need to take off the vac line from the manifold and suck on it to open the fuel supply and fill the carb
-
Starting Problem
how do you know that fuel is in the carb, it isnt supposed to get there without the engine running (ON A VAC SYSTEM) and you had the carb apart so it's empty of fuel isnt it?
-
Starting Problem
i dont get that, is there a prime facility on the tap?
-
Starting Problem
ahh there may be a problem there if you've had the carb off! am i right in thinking the fuel supply is vac operated?

Sorry to be rude!!!

Starting Problem
Andrew, first things first i must say that i'm not familiar with the scoot..,.but is there plenty of fuel in the tank i assume the fuel supply is vacuum operated?...if so check the vac line from the inlet manifold to the fuel supply tap, see it hasnt come adrift, split, kinked etc etc

Any help with DriveChains?
chains dont actually stretch, the pivots wear and thats how they become longer, the amount of pivots wear can be greatly reduced with regular lubrication. Look after your new chain better than the old one and it will last longer

Aircooled Engine Temperature Display
@ DirtyDT, easy going temps around 160/180C, hard work temps I have seen up to 220C...all this means nothing to me but i'm learning mate @Drewpy, Had it quite a while now, around £30 ish, you have to buy one suitable for your particular size plug

Aircooled Engine Temperature Display
I fitted one of these to my DT, might come in handy for help with jetting, it has a thermocouple attached to a copper ring to go between the spark plug and cyl head. It's very responsive and cheap to buy http://trailtech.net...emperature.html [media=]

CS5 armature removal
yes of course having had a quick google, get the longest bolt possible and slide hammer it free http://www.google.co...29,r:1,s:0,i:71 comes with a word of caution, when using this method, take precautions to not let the armature hit the deck when it comes free although the yamahaenduro website isnt available...google showed this much "I had to make an armature puller. The threads ... So I turned it into a slide hammer. ... 173- 81153-10-00 is supposed to be for the AT1/AT2, CS5 and the CS3." I think the guy was saying that using the bolt was massing the threads up, so he used it as a slide hammer
