  1. thats it then, its not the european version and both the brake plate and axle will be different
  2. scrape it off then solvol, use a wood chisel and keep the blade flat to the exhaust and it wont dig in and scratch
  3. all the wheels and forks are the same unless you have an imported leading axle style fork
  4. It may be 210, you will only know by checking it, try a bigger one but I dont know how much bigger...I would try a 230 or 240 it's better to be too big than too small! ???

Well did you fit a bigger main jet in the carburettor...what size is in there right now?...with that new exhaust I would fit a bigger one also there is a wire connected to the CDI that will require earthing to the chassis or battery negative, this wire goes to one of the plugs at the speedo, it is black/green ...make a connection from this wire to chassis. This should have great effect. Dont forget though...fit a bigger jet in the carb or you will be back with photos of a melted piston!
  6. Thats OK emilz just as it should be Now you have the exhaust off, is there a restriction tube inside the neck of the pipe where it attaches to the cylinder?
  7. Hmmm so perhaps it affected the mixture this change in filter 1: did you oil the filter? 2: Did you reset the carb mixture screws? Try turning all the mixture screws anti-clockwise about 1/4 turn (90 degrees)

  9. 1 Turn on key 2 zzzt zzzt (PV cleaning cycle) STOP 3 'U' notch in pulley (1) aligned with 4mm hole (2) clear picture of 4mm hole (2) 4 Take off exhaust pipe 5 see the top of the exhaust port...it is smooth. The PV is open wide
  10. It's great bike but not a great seller so finding a good used one will be hard!...worth saving a search on fleabay though
  11. yeah if you oil the filter it will run even richer but it should be oiled anyhow
  12. does your power valve open fully emilz? when you first turn on the key the PV should make a noise zzzt zzzt (the cleaning cycle) then come to rest with the notch in the pulley aligned with the 4mm hole in the cylinder. At this point if you take off the exhaust pipe the PV should be fully open, see the top of the exhaust port...it should be totally flat with the PV...
  13. Sam buy your jets from allens, they are genuine ones not pattern...so you can trust what it says on the jet, might be worth buying a few different sizes they increment in 5's at this size http://www.allensperformance.co.uk/

  17. when I wanted a colour match (aerosol) I went to my local motorfactors shop and trawled through their many colour chart books for old cars, comparing them against the colour of my original painted petrol tank. When I found something to match they mixed it for me and wrote the code on the can for future ref

If the yamaha mechanic says the rear cylinder is low on compression, then thats the thing to remedy first isnt it? how long have you been riding this bike has it ever performed well when did it stop performing well was it a sudden change you want help...try and give as much detail as possible...always! aside from that...needing choke in order to 'rev' the engine could be an indication of a blocked main jet in the carb so it's worth checking that one out
