  1. Try to eliminate the ignition switch as the culprit. is there a brown wire on the flasher relay? as a temporary measure unplug this and connect the relay direct to batt+

  8. a few questions... Why did you replace the piston? What size was the old one, What size is the new one? I suggest a compression test can you do one?

  11. so you've had the barrel off, perhaps you have unfortunately left a torn piece of the original cylinder base gasket trapped under the new one?
  12. Code 402 is for 1973 DT125A(B ) ? you will normally see the engine displacement shown in the casting at the base of the cylinder

  19. at a guess it will be posn 2 on the key for lights and the headlight may need the engine running, not 100% sure maybe posn 3 you can withdraw the key? and this could be a parking light... its not a DT175E though

  22. the brake light runs from the battery The headlight is totally seperate and is directly powered from the magneto...so needs the key in position 2 possibly and the engine running and switches on. how many positions does your key switch have including OFF ? is it OFF, 1, 2, 3 ? on the left hand control is there an On / Off for lights ?
