Cant fault the original pipes myself so long as whoever gutted it did a nice weling job afterwards, whichever you settle for if you neglect it...it will look bad at the header and rot away quickly which is what happened to yours..keep it clean with a regular wipe down and re-paint (even if its only the header) just as often as is necessary and it will last well
  2. yep I agree, It's gone that way with cyclists now...If they are wearing a helmet or not will reflect on the compensation they get after having an accident yet wering a helmet is not compulsary. When all said and done It's just the insurance companies trying to keep their liabilities lower isnt it.

  11. Dave we need a picture, cables arent usually that difficult but generally with a clutch you would connect at the engine first
  12. Do in the winter when it's dark, dont in the summer. It's my choice and I try to be sensible...one day I may not have the choice.
  13. Its a 2 stroke because at only 100cc back in the day a 4 stroke would have been pretty gutless, coupled with I assume lower production costs thats the way it was back then...It's only recently the emissions thing has killed off the 2t's

  19. Whatever you do keep within your own limitations davie, make the best possible botch improvisation you can...whatever you do it need to be reliable and last well. If you make a balls of that cyl head trying to do it 'right' that will bug you even more...always beware of trying to drill out snapped off studs...it aint easy mate
  20. I would check the resistance of the lighting coil when the light goes out, perhaps the coil is going open cct with heat?
