Hello! Yamaha YG5T (1968) Clutch Cable
Airhead replied to wooddav3's topic in New Members Welcome Area
Screw in the aduster fully into the engine case Screw in the adjuster fully into the lever Fit the nipple into the operating lever (engine) Pull out the clutch lever pivot bolt and detach the lever Fit the cable through the lever adjuster screw slot Fit the nipple into the lever Fit the lever back into the perch and bolt it up again This is really the only way to do it, did you do it this way? -
yeah, just one side of a story...there will no doubt be another. People dont react in such a way when in business, it isnt easy running bikeshops in the current climate...lots of them closing down, they lose a lot more than a wasted journey
-
do you need to buy anything for it?

For pics see FAQ's (New Members)

yeah, never thought about that, quite a fair bit lighter than me and mine hasnt any issues even with camping gear piled high at the back. I wonder if you have lost your pressurisation (Nitrogen) Jim ?

Hello! Yamaha YG5T (1968) Clutch Cable
Airhead replied to wooddav3's topic in New Members Welcome Area
yes but my point is this...the tube that remains in the engine is a remnant of the old cable remove it and your new adjuster will screw into the engine case ...your mistake was cutting off the nipple from the original cable, it would have come out from the case if you'd unscrewed the adjuster! -
All you can do is turn up the preload and/or lose some lb's Jim

Hello! Yamaha YG5T (1968) Clutch Cable
Airhead replied to wooddav3's topic in New Members Welcome Area
what happened to the last cable did it snap? the threaded adjuster in the engine needs removing now, it's part of the old cable isnt it? Oh and another thing...that new cable you're showing us...it has the wrong nipple on there...a 'pear' instead of a 'barrel' like sacha showed her nipple lol -
very funny Just resize your picture to 500kb or less

Hey pedguy, you dont need an image code or a remote host for your 'Garage' ...Just browse to a picture on your PC hard drive. I just tested it and uploaded one of mine...It's working fine
