  2. cutting the inlet rubber is just bull if you ask me, fibre reeds yeah theyre ok but they wont affect top speed. dropping from 16 to 15 front sprocket will reduce top speed but slightly increase acceleration

  9. The regulator is usually very reliable, most faults can be seen visually, thay need a good clean contact from the body of the regulator back to chassis (batt neg) The magneto coil that charges the battery also powers the light so if theres no battery or a duff one the voltage can rocket skywards...yeah maybe this can make a balls of the regulator maybe not...I dunno that but for now I'd get the battery in place
  10. Yep...get one! Cant you borrow one for now?
  11. no its watercooled...it has a radiator and no cooling fins on the cylinder
  12. DT (Dirt Trail) is a generic title for many Yamaha 2 stroke trail bikes DTR is short for for example...Yamaha DT125R a watercooled 2 stroke trail bike DTRE is short for... Yamaha DT125RE, a watercooled 2 stroke trail bike with an electric starter

  21. Looking good mate That tail light bracket looks OK to me as it is...however, whats taking the weight? the DT fender has a steel support underneath as you know
  22. even if they are not the same they will do the same job providing you mount it correcty with a black wire on a ring terminal to the mounting screw. The difficulty may be...removing the screws. Because it's in a wet area and the screws will rust into the flimsy mouting bracket which may start to bend if you are over zealous trying to undo them...penetrating oil and caution would be the order of the day. They are very reliable...obvious faults are The yellow wire snaps where it meets the body of the regulator The epoxy fill may be bulging out the back of the unit either of these will render the unit as trash but if none of this is evident I'd check the bracket is securely connected to black...ie battery negative For many years I have used an alternative version as fitted to DT50 and some other models Here are pics Correct standard version with integral wire And the one I have succesfully used for many years, I like the fact that this one has a plug on connection so it's not trash if the wire breaks.
