Full set of Luggage
A couple of mates have taken a spare pillionseat and fitted the mounting plate for a topbox to it. When they get where they are going, they remove it an fit the original one that's stored in the top box. Just a thought for you.

Safe Filtering
Filtering is not illegal. Read the road ahead and if a gap appears in the traffic, it's likely a car is pulling out or turning in. Right turns ahead can mean cars turning with out indicators and black cabs/taxis are liable to u turn without warning. Queues at traffic lights are good places to make good progress and laugh at the mugs sat in the queues!!! Have your lights on and if people pull aside to let you pass, a little wave doesn't go amiss. Enjoy missing out on the queues but be aware that filtering in heavy traffic is hard work as it takes a lot of concentration to take in all that is happening around you and thinking about what all the other people are going to do and anticipate crap/dangerous driving.

chain cleaning
All of the above is good advice. I clean my chain with WD40 and spray with chain wax- http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-760-castrol-ch...ax-aerosol.aspx cos i can liberate from work for nothing. When I used to commute, I sprayed my chain every time it got wet.

creatine
I've really started hitting the weights down the gym and I'm gonna start using creatine again. But I can't remember- how much I should take to load up with at first - how much to take once the loading up period is finished - how long to use it for. Anyone got more of a clue on this than me?

Winter Riding
These are definitely worth using during winter. Had them fitted to my deauville I had for commuting. Along with heated grips I ended up wearing my summer gloves. http://www.oxprod.com/index.php?pg=3&a...;pid=177&p= I'd also recommend wiring heated grips to the ignition cos you will forget to turn them off if it's an on/off switch.

Tail Tidy 08 R6 / Yamalube
Have your indicators turned up. Was thinking of ordering these and wondered if they are a reputable dealer as I'm suspicious of companies on ebay.

Removing Scuffs
Just try using normal polish and a good rub, first. might get rid of the marks if they are only light scuffs.

Just Finished
Tidy looking bike. Short stubby exhaust, just like modern bikes.

Winter Riding
Let me get this right, you're recommending that people apply grease to their brake discs? Not the best advice I've ever seen given.

Winter Riding
When I used to commute, I lubed the visible chain after every wet ride. I use wd40 to clean and this stuff to lube- http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-760-castrol-ch...ax-aerosol.aspx The other option is a scottoiler- http://www.scottoiler.com/ They can be a little tricky to set up but at least your chain should be lubed all the time.

Winter Riding
Put bike in garage November and get out again in March. That's how I deal with winter.

All though the xj is a very capable bike, I think you'll get more smiles per mile on a Hornet. More power, better handling and a better looking bike(in my humble opinion).

If you're going to do your test, do it soon as the new one has been delayed by 6 months.

An R6 is not the best bike for touring as the seat is like a razor and will numb ya arse after an hours touring. That said, when you get to some of the decent sweeping roads in europe you're gonna have a lot of fun. Plenty of good deals on last years models, especially with 0% finance if that's the way ya you wanna go. Whatever bike you get, get out and ride it and enjoy. Good luck with your test. regards, Druid
