Its a queer one, ,, if it was only when it was hot, i would say low compression, but it would spin over fast. and that cold start thing, blows the low comp, out of the window, ,, check battery water level, and clean All connections, , soliniod too. see what becomes.

All good newman , my mate has a bike shop, sells lot of BT,"s Ts250 passed M.O.T. & is taxed , did a 90mle run on sunday,, its great , Crank rumbles at low throttle , vibration too. smooths out at 4 k revs. [ rebuild in winter] had a look in headlight [ to see wiring for turn signls] good news " its all original, neat & not touched.. av chopped that big rear fender, and shes lookn neat.

Yip rodger , you can remove the old seals from the crank, after flywheel , and pinion gear removed, two or three self tappers screwed into old seals, to aid removal,

As the bike warms " any wear becomes audible, your P.valve may need cleaning, but this will make it rev out , not quieten a worn engine, dont worry , 2 strokes will run on long after they rattle,
