    unless youve got an unlimited budget and a lot of skills id say nope , or why? xs650's are easy and cheap enough to find, youd be better off finding one and redoing it.

    If you can lay your hands on a cb 500 T tank 1975 its a good fit and good look for a cafe, ive also seen the 750 tripple yamy standard on several . 500T tank in pic. on a 76 xs standard.

    back then they had a two plug head, comp release was aftermarket back in the day the compp release screwed in to second plug hole. , sort of a jake brake for bikes in theory.

    heres some pics, I circled one gouge in marker, I also wrote #'s marked on leg. my cal batterys dead so I stuck a tape on em but im purty sure there 34. If you can use em ill just swap you straight up, I make headlight shrouds out of them and the broken part on yours wont effect what im doing with them, take the pair or single side either way. check the pics close to be sure. 1st pic left side is jap. writing (symbol) between fender mount. .

    Ok think ive got a set, do you have pic of yours, 75 and 76 are dif I think , these were off 76, they use same cal but one is behind fork and one is in front of leg. Ill try to take a pic.

    where you located, Ill dig around , those are 34's might be a little harder to find, but I may have a set. Ive used a socket to drift them in .

  9. steel shot in the bars, yes emco's do block Ajet, you can prob notch around it, but ebay under powersports has gocart filters that are exact copys of K&N's at around 24.00 per pair, No brace should be needed on filtercarbs. Sorry no help on carbs, ive ebayed the stockers and opted for roundslides, you might check with 650 central and send mike mercury morries an email on your carbs the guys a whiz.

    looks like a good donor, check your valve clearance, timing , carbs,, bout 1st. toss that elec as far as you can, tuned right itll start right, and without elec youll keep it tuned right. not sure where your located but if you need frame help yell.prob point you somewhere in the us or uk.

    dissassemble carbs pour common lemon juice in pan, put in carbs, bring to simmer 5min., dont drink lemon juice, & carbs will look new. it works . got this tip from a buddy in canada so those long winters are good for something! .

  18. if im understanding you right, is the magent holding it in place, they do tend to grab things, I cleaned points on an mr 175 honda, I removed the bolt and pulled flywheel, after it popped it still was a two handed job sliding it out. JMO. By jeepurz

    none what so ever , ive wrapped pipes for years. (wear gloves when wrapping).
