  1. I have taken my R1 to the main dealer Yamaha in Woking, Surrey. I have never had any problems with them....well the parts dept had ordered the wrong part for me once but thats about it. They are always helpful, even when they are very busy.
  2. I have went across Portsmouth to st malo it was 11 hour night crossing so you wake up have breky before riding off. It was ok and the bike did not get damaged but the straps and pad protectors were worn and grubby. Good luck and have a great time the roads are good over there and I never seen any cops.

The uk prefix is designed so you will know the approx year of a vehicle by looking at the licence plate without the need to look at the documents. Do they have the year on the licence plate in the USA ?

The best way to change the brake fluid is not by emptying the fluid out - but instead flushing the system with new fluid - keep topping up the bottle and pump the new fluid though - that way you will not get the problems with brake pressure.
  6. You may have cooked your new battery by charging it dry.

If it is loosing coolant it is most likely ot be the head gasket but it could be a warped/ cracked head. Hope it's the cheap option.

Sounds like back pressure- when the piston rings are worn the preasure forces oil into the breather pipes and airbox. Sorry the be the bearer of bad news - You may have bought a lemon.
