  1. Hi slice what is the TCI , plus bike will not start at all, I tried linking out side stand switch but still the same
  2. Hi all of a sudden after 4or 5 kickstarts bike makes a shorting noise, have checked fuses OK, checked wiring OK , Plug is sparking OK can smell smoke when it happens but can not find where its coming from so frustrating , just wondering if anybaody has had a similar problem. The only thing i have taken off is a strange plastic tube near battery that had a live and neatral going to it neutral was detached so removed and taped up wires independently , the tube was not attached to anthing and just hung near battery ( wondered if it was a bulb fitting for a light) any help appreciated.Cheers .
  3. Well pinned it open and boy does she rev now when riding 9000 rpm plus, but had to laugh as it is all hills here so she really struggled up the hills so going to adjust pinning position, have ordered a 2nd hand servo motor off Ebay so all should be good can definetly see why you need adjustble servo for better overall performance. Oh while looking around found a company in Europe found a company called zeeltronic who do programable CDi units to improve performance so you fit CDi unit then use a handheld programer to fine tune bike not cheap about 250 GBP and lets face it on a 125 cc bike its not like there is a whole of power hidden waiting to be unleased but on bigger bikes could be usefull. will get back to everyone when New servo Fitted, Thanks.
  4. Rectangular with 2 curved sides Airhead.
  5. Thanks Chalkey for pic, I put power direct to servo motor from Battery and nothing happened so thinking that motor is duff, i may have to pin it as per pic till I get new unit, i take it the slot and hole line up for full power position.
  6. Right so will keep fault finding as it could be a faulty cdi unit, will report back when it's sorted and I find and fix fault.
  7. WOW 336 GBP for a servo for that i want it transforming into a RD500LC LOL , think i have found one on Ebay for 85 pounds second hand, seeing as i have in my short time of owning bike never had a operating servo do they make a differance to the ride quality on bike if not operational ?
  8. Hi Yes power valve turns when plastic pulley is removed very easily actually, took tank off and checked connections at servo took cover off it to expose pulley wires ( not to tight ) but pulley will not rotate at servo but I think this is because it is electrically driven so could not be manualy opened, so I am thinking the servo is Kaput, bike can be ridden just needs revving alot.
  9. Well all wires connected up to powervalve checked fuses OK ,pulley wires connected but nothing happening when turning Key, any clues anyone I hate electrical problems ( growling noise ).
  10. Thanks Airhead making a coffee and getting ready to read the Link, Thanks
  11. Took plastic section off and metal key ? turned easily so refitted plastic pulley and bolt, will investigate further tomorrow thanks for advice will let you know how it goes tomorrow ,going to look at those pinned threads, cheers again.
  12. Well took cover off power Valve and turned key on ignition nothing happened revved bike upto 9000 rpm and still no movement this is how it looked whole time ,so I guess this is not correct lol, so how do i get to the pinned articles so I can carry on in my quest for world domination on my DT 125 R, bloody hell this coffee is strong, cheers.
  13. Going to check it next as it does not make a sound when key is turned before start up, I take it there are instructions how to set it properly on here, must admit it's fun tinkering with a bike again takes me back to the days when I tried to get 50 DX in Kenny Roberts colours to go faster (best after a thunder storm when air is oxygen rich lol .) Thanks
  14. Mine is a 2002 model
  15. Hi well have refitted 220 Jet and found that idle screw was missing the steel washer ,well that changed everything ( after fitting one ) idles far better and low and mid range so much betterbut bike still not going past 7000 rpm when riding is that exhaust or power valve, I realize that bike is a 125 cc so not ever going to be like my RD 350 LC , but it is a very small power band and would like to make riding it easyer on the gear changes, any clues to where I should look.

Nice looking bike chalkey, will check float height .
  17. welcome Costis
  18. Hi all Have noticed that while messing about with my Mikuni TM 28 carb that bike revs so much better with snorkel out, but as average temp here is about 78, have to be carefull about overheating due to extra air flow, what has anybody else found with the snorkel as in or out being better. also i must have been lucky with my previous 2 strokes which i never touched Carburetor wise ( this is the rant bit ) as i have had the mikuni in and out more times then the Pope has said Amen, i have researched so much info on carb but there seems to be no definitive setup mine is not happy with a 240 or 230 Jet 220 jet for my carb runs best but still working on idle which is crap and mid range . but on the plus side i can remove and fit the carb in approx 15 to 20 mins lol. So what i need is either to pay Stan Stephens to come over and tune it ( If I was wealthy,I would bloody do it ) or some kind soul on here has info that would assist in my quest to ride the bike more than i work on it , Cheers all

Hi I have a 2002 Dt 125 R, 6500 miles on clock and would love to know the Carb settings you used, mine is a standard engine with reed switch taken out of speedo I have had bike 3 months and fitted a new Mikuni TM 28 ss Carb and fitted a 220 Jet but The bike hates idling, hates acelerating unless its at 6000 rpm, and at low revs bogs alot also bowl overflows when it is ticking over any clues, tips or info on setting the Carb up would be really appreciated, Oh and how high is that Box the bike is on I need to make one of those lol. Thanks
  20. well sorted binding Disc , Some daft bugger ( ME ) ,forgot to put the spacer back in on disc side, OK now, thanks all.
  21. Hi all Well with help from various members (Thank you all ), I have done a few things will start with the good . Removing reed switch and taping it up ( Good ) fitting 220 jet in Mikuni TM 28 carb ( good ),cleaning out Exhaust (decoke) good, adjusting needle in carb (good). The bad removing snorkle, made the bike overheat also a pig to start refitted starts first time now and ticks over a lot better. Fitting 240 jet in carb bike had no bottom end so fitted 220 jet much better. Have not gutted exhaust to remove plate as if required would rather get new exhaust jury still out on that one.will fit a iriduim spark plug soon as can get one on island ( apparently adds 2/3 hp ) and bike runs even better. Attached is pic of Bike you will notice it has a Kawasaki KH 125 tail pipe bike came with it. Cheers Everyone
  22. Thanks ,Bike has been stood a year and a half so will check it out

Hi I noticed my rear disc is binding a bit , you notice if you push bike, apart from the 2 nuts is there any other forms of adjustment on the rear disc.
  24. Do you use the Pirellis on tarmac at all ,I hear there great off road but scuff up quick on tarmac ?
  25. Hi Scott welcome to biking, from my own experience what I have learnt is the 1.5 seconds flying through the air is painless, but landing and sliding up the road is painfull, heres to you not falling off and remembering treat every car with caution and you will not go far wrong.
