  1. Hi, Can't help you with the 400 but am a longstanding client of yours so welcome.
  2. Coming from and having only had Yamaha's 'ancient' offerings the FJ still feels like a proper drivers bike. Just more of it and grunt that makes your eyes water. Not an over electrickerized machine (which I've got with the Jeep Grand and that's given me plenty of head aches already, thank you very much)
  3. I have one too :-( Wanted one for the last 15 years until the right one came along in October last year. Daily driver, look forward to get going in the morning and knock off time can't come fast enough. As voiced by my co-owners above, go for it !!! You will not regret it.
  4. Thanks gents. With the lengthening days it will be a job for when I really feel like it me thinks. Clock is in KM so half the time I dunno how fast I'm going anyway :-)
  5. Chaps, Duff bulb in the speedo. Is this a fairing off jobbie ? Not looking forward to that :-(
  6. Every single day now. Life on the FJ1200 is sweet
  7. Yup got one in the CJ7. Only use it on green laning trips in company & events. Don't wanna drop the Blackberry in the dirt
  8. To save any future embarrassment : Anders verwachten een belasting van vriendelijke fietsers te zijn ... goed, fietsers! Translated back without goooooogle : Otherwise we expect to tax you for being kind cyclists ...... good cyclists ! What ever TF that means
  9. Oi, give the guy a break !!!!!!!!!!! Tasky, I'm impressed....... not sure about the push bike bit
  10. Never had the lame thing displayed anyway in one of those naff holders, so all good
  11. The FJ has been stuck in the garage for what now ...... 2 months ????? Storms, more rain than Noah has ever seen, shit & rubble on the roads, potholes opening up like sink holes and don't get me started on crap car drivers with head lights pointing at the moon. Good old Jeep WK 3.0 CRD 4x4 here ........ fuck'em. When is it going to stop
  12. I got 2. Had a 120 bar Kaercher then picked up a 140 bar one at a farm machinery auction for 14 quid. Brilliant for the patio and stuff. Would not put them near my bike. Nothing a soapy wash and a hose pipe cant cure. btw ever washed your car with a PW without soap. It dont work.
  13. Excuse me ...... you were implying what again ...... ??
  14. Name: Yamaha FJ1200 (1989) Date Added: 05 December 2013 - 08:33 PM Owner: DutchFJ1200 Short Description: Found this one in Brussels. Had an offer I couldn't refuse on the XT-250 and finally after 15 years or so I had opprtunity & finances to go for it. Bought unseen and untested from ebay and its proven to be a minter. This could have gone soooo wrong on many levels. View Vehicle
  15. Hard graft : soapy wash - rinse - shammy - let dry - polish (several products chrome, paintwork & aluminium if applic. cleaner compound + wax) - grazed knuckles/fingers/lower arms - torn fingernails and a plentiful supply of .......................................... 4 letter words if tha kids or swmbo are not around.
  16. My dear fellow FJ1200 owner :-) ................ simpels : Photobucket.com - upload photo from desktop or other location on confuser - bring up uploaded photo on PB site - hover mouse over IMG link to share and left click - it says : copied - paste 'right click' img code on here. Keep us informed how you get on in your restauration - - - - - - - god I love these bikes
  17. Bit of spit & polish and that'll come right up. Nice one !!
  18. Thank you Sir. You just made my day
  19. Tasky, Very subjective to value a FJ1200. To the uninitiated or those that do not like a bike like that valuations will be low. On the contrary a mint for the age and/or 'unfucked' bike will be worth 10 x as much to the proud owner.....or more. The guy (ex colleague) I hooked up with a couple of weeks ago and who has owned one for 12 years valued mine at 1600/1800. My purchase invoice will not help you because I paid silly money for mine + a bit of transport and that was still a silly price. As Lallasro said 'the market' decides but then you have to find equal bikes to yours (I don't think I ever saw a pic of yours 'pre buttfuck' :-) More than happy to share off the grid. edit: Can research some on the continent but that probably won't help for the UK market (steering is on the wrong side :-)
  20. And you thought the FJ was my only passion - well it is - but have some other toys to keep me busy :-)
