  4. sometime I like to "play" with bike learners on the road, I fallow them at some distance and observe what mistakes they make and in a lot of situations I saw the learners riding good, with no mistakes but lot of drivers act like everithing is wrong on the road, is because of those f learners on the bikes. I also saw learners that should not be allowed to ride a bike but in most cases the drivers act like " i`m smart, you are a f idiot, you have no rights here and i`m the king of the road" another strange thing I observe was the attitude of the drivers if the learner is a cruiser rider. the drivers pay more attention and they respect on the road the baby cruiser riders... or maybe that was happening just by accident.

  7. captf, you can do very well on 125, you don`t need a bigger bike for those roads. just take a bit longer and the comfort is not the same. and if is frosty, this is a good excuse to stop on more pubs.

  11. I have an K&N filter on my bike and i`m very happy with it. is worth the money, an genuine filter is 24 pounds and the K&N is 44 pounds. the diference is, the genuine is paper, and should be changed after 12.000 miles if i`m not wrong, the K&N need to be washed at 50.000 miles and you can use it again. just be aware to not put to much oil on the filter before fitting, use half of the plastic bag you got with the filter and be sure you oil the entire surface.
  12. I have no idea what is the company will come for breakdown in my case but I have full UK and EU breakdown cover included in my insurance policy. I think this is the best way. I pay at my insurance an extra of 69 pounds for this

  14. xvs are the cruising range of star motorcycles, the name is different, dragstar or midnightstar for europe, v-star for US, CA, Australia. dragstar is the old model of the xvs, the mighnight star the new name. ofcourse there is some differences but not because of the model, because of new things bring every year on the bikes. i`m not sure but I think they change the name something like 2008-2009 when the 950 version come on market. so, can be noticeable differences between a dragstar and a new midnightstar. what I know for sure is the xvs is not really a yamaha. is another brand. long time ago, in the years 90 yamaha create star motorcycles brand for US. 10 years later this brand separate from yamaha and become another company. the motorcycles are still produced in yamaha factories and sell in his dealers network BUT the company that create and own the models is star motorcycles. is also possible the star motorcycle change the european name for xvs when the company was separate from yamaha. in 2005 or 2006 .. or, all I just write can be wrong )

  16. I had enough time to test my new helmet so I come to blabla a bit about this: is a flip up helmet that was builded for sport bikes. the reason I buy this helmet is because they say is a quiet helmet so, I compare this helmet with my old HJC helmets, one full face, one flip up. I remove the windshield and take short rides with all 3 helmets. the noise difference is HUGE. at 85 m/h with the C3 Pro, no earplugs I have something like half of the noises I get with other 2 helmets at 45 m/h with earplugs. mechanically is like you compare a kenwood deck (c3pro) with a double radio cassette made in china (HJC RPH MAX). the sun visor is easier to work with it (short course and is in left side) on HJC RPH MAX is on the top of the helmet, have a longer course(3 times longer) and is harder to work with it. also is a lot more comfortable than any helmet I ever try, (shoei, hjc, scorpion...) the front ventilation system is work better than HJC one for ... demisting is the correct word? what I don`t like is not about the helmet, is about the intercom system. the schuberth intercom system is builded by cardo scala so the same crap with this one like others, if you connect the intercom with your gps, every time you break the speed limit or you get any indication from GPS, your radio or communication with other riders will stop. this is annoying, they should build speakers with 2 ways so your communication don`t stop every time you get a gps indication price for C3 Pro: 450-500 pounds price for HJC RHP MAX: 350-370 pounds is worth every f penny in my opinion
  17. is not about low level oil, nothing wrong with you oil level. fit you engine with oil until the maximum level allowed. I had the same problem and we are not the only who had same problem. what I suggest you was the solution for all.
