Lol! I got my first sat nav about 11 years ago - what's a map???!! It's been about 17 years since I've planned a route other than motorway (when I was active in D of E and Air Cadets). I'm sure I'll be able to plan a route though. Guess I could print pages off from Google maps!

Ok well that's a bit of inspiration for me. I'll check out A and B roads and see just how far it is. Then to get permission from the wife!!!!!

That sounds like a 'kin great weekend but its about 150 miles to squires if I was in the cage. Go knows what it'd be having to avoid motorways! At 50mph I'd get there in time to turn round and come back!

I may only have an SR but had a great run out today on some B roads. Got to take my thermal liner out the jacket now though. I'm not saying I got my knee down in the corners, but at one point I felt my foot peg scrape the ground!!! Best fun I've had with my clothes on for ages! 'Kin love this hobby :)

I forgot to add that there should be no excuse for regular visitors using the wrong section. That IS just plain rude!

Having been guilty if this myself I would like to defend newbies who perhaps use smart phones. When you have visited anywhere in General, when in mobile version, all Yamaha sections including workshop disappear from view and it is only when you scroll all the way to the top that you can go back to 'Home' when you can then see all the section headings. My first post was in the bar section (my bad) because after writing a brief intro I scrolled down and there was no workshop section visible. This and after visiting the bar I saw others had also raised queries there! The defence rests, your honour.

I think, as in most areas of life, if the grass looks greener it probably just means there is a little more manure than what you are used to!

Like I say it was working last time I rode the bike but since I parked her up the speedo has not moved At the risk of second guessing your sense of humour, does the speedo move when the isn't parked?!

Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade my headlight to a H4? Would a replacement fitting go straight into my '94 SR? H4 bulbs are so much easier to get hold of!

I've never had a matte finish paint, but baby wipes are brilliant at getting fly's guts and and road tar off and they are gentle especially if you use the non fragrant type!

I think with the amount of SMIDSY's out there a little bit of "come on fella tell us who you are" should just brush off. If you're gonna take offence at a polite request what is your attitude like when you're out riding? Some people are perhaps a little too tightly strung!

I think Benedictine on here has had to change his bulb recently and he's got an early 90's SR. I've not had to change that one yet!

Cheers Jimmy. Duelly noted! You are probably right, however we were going 20 and was accelerating up to 25 when she stopped on a postage stamp. Perhaps a little of my in experience as well? I was trying to get home to the wife for a bit of 'lunch' so I wasn't perhaps concentrating as well as I should. I normally see oil patches before I'm on them! I think maybe I need to work on my road rage. I only kicked the mirror and I'm sure it would have clipped back into place! To be honest I did let the adrenaline take over. I've only had the bike a couple of months and I was very pissed off - not to mention late getting home for my leg over!!!
