Run Laura run, done take it easy Laura, don't overdue it in your condition you could always get a piggyback off your Hubby most of the way. I'd pay extra to see that

  9. Won some nos carbs on ebay today they'll go on my first bike and use the carbs off that on this one as these keep leaking, had them off once already but hadn't managed to cure them, probably just float level, I thought I just hadn't tightened them up properly after cleaning them, oh well this should be an easy fix.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251558327562?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 shiny shiny

oh that brings back memory's, my Dad and I used to make a lot of home brew back in the 80's, it worked out about 8p a gallon back in the good old days
  16. yes I think that's what I'll do, I think it is a lot lower mileage than the motor that's in now, the only problem is my brother got it off ebay as a stolen recovered and the bike had taken a bit of a beating hence my brother giving it to me, bullet proof I hope so, but as you say its a simple swap so nothing really to loose I'll take some pics at the weekend and get cracking
  17. as above also check your clutch adjustment, plenty of youtube vids on how to do it if your not sure.
  18. Had another good look at the wiring last night the POW has butchered both the wires from the alternator and the pickups luckily I have all the parts I need on my bike 3's motor which I have never started as it was bought by my brother as a project for him, he dumped it in my garage then after about a month decided it was to much work and gave it to me. I didn't have room for it really so I stripped it down and put it in the loft of my garage except for the motor which has been sitting in the corner it might be easier to just swap the motors but have only ever turned this one over by hand I mean its only 4 bolts plus the exhausts and carbs and their both coming off anyway. I think I'll leave it till the weekend then decide
  19. I was hoping he would be on his little ped this year but that looks unlikely (poor little ped)
  20. Between me & you DT I'm glad he can't get it going as he left me for dust on it last year at squires
  21. I know member Grouch replaced his with an aftermarket one, don't know what he used but I remember he said it was far better than the original one you could PM him for advice, but my advice is to say hi in the new members section first.
  22. Ive had that problem with the cdi only after cleaning the carbs around 4 times did I think to swap it over
  23. I think I've found where the problem lies I think its in the pickups that send the signal/voltage to the cdi the P.O has threaded the wiring through the rear swing arm so that won't help think I should have found this a lot earlier but I'm getting there
  24. been out in the garage tonight before the football obviously, still not found problem
