  2. well done! get yeh mod 2 booked L plate free for summer
  3. this is my take on this! for more info read thread in general forum (new members asking questions with out an introduction) I wouldn't go so far as to say I get pissed off In fact sometime's its Quite funny and often it's an honest mistake, I know when I first joined YOC my intro wasn't great. I found the (start a new topic button) but thought starting a new topic isn't saying hello. I think its quite confusing when your new, if there was a button that said (say hello here) it would be much simpler and we wouldn't see nearly so many questions in the new members area I know i'm guilty of being sarcastic to new members who may have made an honest mistake. please don't take offence by this reply! just start again, do an introduction a few lines about you & your interest is all it needs you will get a much better response and realize what a brilliant site this is. Then post your question's in the relevant forum,(workshop forum in your case) The more you put into this site the more you get out.
  4. 8. this is my take on this! for more info read thread in the bar (new members asking questions with out an introduction) I wouldn't go so far as to say I get pissed off In fact sometime's its Quite funny and often it's an honest mistake, I know when I first joined YOC my intro wasn't great. 10. thank's Cynic, I do see the big picture and how many regulars there are and I think its a shame that more people don't stick around long enough to even say thanks sometimes. I've not been a member that long myself and still learning.

  14. I'm really glad to get your thoughts on this one mike, as you were the person who answered my intro back in November last year my intro read not really a new topic hi, which is my whole point, granted I didn't ask a stupid question but when the button you click on says start a new topic, people are bound to get confused, am I being really thick! can no one else see what I mean?

looks to me like its going to a new home grouch! haha
  18. yes you have a good point there cynic, I'm just thinking about some of the new members who are just a bit confused and then the like's of me being off with them, could result in someone who found the right place for help not getting it or enjoying the forum as much as I do, I'm certainly going to change my approach to this myself in the future but think a simple header above the new topic button would help erase any confusion

what do you mean was up! its still up
  20. these are the words of slice I'm using them here co's he says it so much better than I would Hi, As you can see you DO NOT just jump in here with a question, it's for new member to introduce themselves and say Hi. Just like if you were down the pub, you don't walk up to strangers and start asking questions you say Hi first and tell them who you are and something about yourself, we are NOT a bunch of mechanics or gurus who you can shout questions at and demand answers, we are just like you bike owners who like to help each other out if we can or take the piss if the question is stupid. So PLEASE start again and do a proper intro and we will treat you the way you would like to be treated. We do not wish to offend but some things (like manners) need to be learned. Don't go away mad just redo it. thank you Slice
  21. I wouldn't go so far as to say I get pissed off In fact sometime's its Quite funny and often it's an honest mistake, I know when I first joined YOC my intro wasn't great. I think its quite confusing when your new, if there was a button that said (say hello here) it would be much simpler and we wouldn't see nearly so many questions in the new members area. I realize its the same layout for each forum and maybe can't change button title on just one forum but maybe a heading above the button would help. anyone else got any idea's how to make it clearer to new members as know i'm guilty of being sarcastic to new members who may have made an honest mistake
  22. ahay there are some good vids on youtube, maybe not for your bike, but will give you some idea, if there's anything i'm not sure about I always check youtube first, you'll have to sieve through the shite first mind
