i think he meant the web was there to give a bit of back pressure to aid starting with the kickstart. Designed in. Not that he was having to bumpstart it. Although while its apart it doesn't hurt to do the rings and wee end

mmm not crud? two strokes are tricky blighters , changing the ins and outs is a delicate balance, exhaust back pressures and stuff. Those clever Japanese spent thousands of man hours and yen developing that engine, if you don't know what you are doing , it might run worse. i'm not a motorcycle engineer but i'd give it a try, always remembering that it is easy to cut something out, but not as easy to put it back, If it runs better, BONUS, if not ....do you know any alloy welders that can put it back lol

a good decoke would do a world of good, if the exhaust port looks like that, then the exhaust pipe is needing decoke too.

It's bad indeed when your childhood heroes are found out to be beasts, I just found out that Morph was a Playdohfile.

Thanks Blackhat, I fancied one since 2008, after touring Europe on my FZR600R, pulling into the ferry port at Imjuden and saw a couple of them in the queue. Thought to myself ''that's got similar power and comfy riding position, mmmm'' The brakes ARE good, i upgraded the fzr's to fazer calipers, when the old ones were too far gone. Think i'll still have to use my throwover panniers, due to exhaust position, but hey ho, they've done me proud so far . BTW Those roll-top canoe bags are miles better than bin bags!

Punish the rider (if you must) not the bike, why punish an inanimate object? Maybe it could be sold and the proceeds go to NABD or some other charitable organisation?

I had a great summer with the thunderace but the old neck and back didn't agree with the riding position so she had to go. Now i've got a 2000 fzs600 fazer, comfy and nimble, with the added bonus of ....heated grips! roll on winter, i'm ready for you now lol. She also has a hugger fitted and a scottoiler, gonna get some braided brake lines and maybe a stainless header for the exhaust, (painted steel wont last the salty winter too well, methinks) Are there any known problems i should look out for? Let me know plz, ta

Crackin wee bike man, but don't get it too shiny or you'll be feart to ride it! Personally I like the used and abused look, rather than restored. ''the patina of age'' as they say on those antique progs on telly, lol, enjoy it man
