  5. Welcome on,nice to see a hello for a first post for a change
  6. I'm with Cynic for the cost of a lith battery you can buy 3 normal batteries, whitout the hassel of chargers and they don't catch fire all on thier own,can be run flat and recharged ,the lith will be junk if run below its thresh. If you need to save a lb or 2 have a good dump before a ride,or unless you have less than 2% body fat hit the gym the money saved will pay for a couple of months of membership to a gym.

  8. I was asking was did you take the time to clean out the hacksaw width of the comm. in the starter? But I think you found the problem!
  9. John your are probably 100% correct and Air I tought I see this idiot before,, but somme one slap me if they catch me sitin on my ass watching some idiot riding his bike around instead of ridin mine, unless it's a race I actualy watched 1 more,Just to see what the hype was about upon your info .. 2 idiots getting lost . So free slap's for all, and I guess he made more cash EDIT: just because you have $$ doesnot mean you have the right to be/ can be stupid.
  10. Not a ounce of common sence,"gee I wonder how my street bike will handle in mud, let's go find out" A fool and ther money soon part company,he could have bought a cheap dirt bike for what the side pannel and other bit's he dammaged will cost to replace and as cynic sad he didn't even get to the good stuff or have fun
  11. Well like they say it cost 10x to build a bike from parts then to buy new assembled, thats why old dirt bikes are cheap. You were going to do it later this year just the time frame got moved up not the cost.
  12. Being rude is no way to get help, not every post get's read. But anyway remove the small wire at solenoide hook up a volt meter and when the start button is pressed do you have 12 v comming from the start button? Although your scared to remove the start button housing you need to find out if you have 12 v feed to button an if pressed is ther 12v comming out. If you run a jump wire from the battery + and touch it to the small + wire entering the solenoide will it turn over? If not the solenoide is PMF or if a 2 wire the ground is bad. Next time just re ask the ? This place has lots of smart peeps just don't piss them off and expect help.
  13. Holly duck 8 yrs later WOW.I'm with air this must be some sort of record, most would have thrown the towel in and given up. Might I suggest a little test I do for next time this sort of thing comes up,wiggel test, with the bike running move the wires around all the wires,bad/poor connections can be hard to find.
  14. a hello in new members first will get you help.
  15. 1st post should be hellow in new members,a bit about youself, iknow nothin about bikes or whatever, just manners. That said it should be a straight swap, just don't pitch the old motor, untill the new is in and all pluged in.
  16. Just check the part no for the main cases, and clutch cover, if it's the same for a 2005 then it will fit
  17. So basicaly what your sayin is you have no idea when the last rebuild was right? And you have put a 100hrs on it If thats the case then you better open it up and check everything the service intervals are check and replace as nessary ever 600 miles or fifth race. That includes Valve clearence every 3rd race,, stem and seat every 5th,springs,lifters,cams,timming chain and sprockets. Piston check every 5th race for cracks -replace rings new head gasket every 5th race. re tighten rotor nut every 5th crank and bearings inspect every 5th transmission bearings 5th The list goes on but this is straight from the yamaha service manual as you can see they don't expect it to run long before something will give up even if you not racing 600 miles is 600 miles of wear and tear. My wr has a tripmeter that suprise only goes to 999kms ( 600miles) so basicaly rebuild set to 0 and rebuild when it rolls over to 0 again. So it's upto you ride it hope it dosen't blow up or service it and know all is good.
  18. UM call me nuts but its a 2 stroke and when they don't smoke they seize pistons
  19. Open offers for parts...some one here wants the wire harness alone is worth 50-70 usa $$dont waste any more cash on it you can get say 600 parting it . More if offers come in.
