  1. First you should pop over to the new members section and say hello,at bit about youself ,yrs riding mechanical ablities ect.. It's the polite thing to do and people prefer it before you start with how to questions. Now before you blow your bike up you better check that you haven't leaned it out to the point its going to blow up,2 notches is alot and I am betting that it's way to lean and it will be a short lived motor. Welcome to the YOC Josh
  2. Well you answers your own question,if it got worse then you should have started there.Or did you just recently adjust the seal? Check that the seal hasent worn a grove in the shaft, yes rubber seals can cut groves in steel, if it has than dont push the seal in as far so it can ride on a smooth section of the crank. What colour is you spark plug? if it is black sooty then I would be checking the low speed coil as cynic pointed out,it would make more sence than the crank seal giving this problem alone, mainly because it shouldn't come and go if it was the seal alone if the seal is leaking then it should be a constant problem, you can spray some wd 40 at it while running and if the rpms chang then for sure its leaking.
  3. Change socks and undies at least 1x a week, shower and shaving optional,go to church on sunday sit at the very back ,every time I go someone give's me a big plate of cash, it is so nice of them all to chip in.Though I did once get into a fight with a dragqueen in a dress rambeling off in latin,he wanted the plate. So I dont go to that church anymore Then off to the beer store,a carton of smokes and fill the tank on the bike, home to wash bike top to bottom and check everything while washing, a quick shot of lube to the cables, chain ,brake switches.Check tire pressures and for anything forien stuck in the tries all intakes and blow out the air filter, takes about a hour then off for a ride
  4. Best way to know is do a part seach for both years and see if the part numbers are the same, most likely they are
  5. LOL where was the internet 30 yrs ago when LSD was fun
  6. Not a very good study though only 4500 people answered, and they didn't include KTM I am sure they could have beat everyone for the worst.harley and bmw owners are the most brand loyal owner in the world, most likely because they have more money in logo clothing than the bike cost's to switch brands
  7. Busa turboed you will get alot of repeat businness, just put a stunt cage on it . Not may bike's really to think about cb4-5 kawak 5 suzi 500 gs if the didvi fit's the rulles then clean it up paint it up and use it? A drz 400 would make a good bike and prety much built to be droped.
  8. Problems that come and go are rarley mechanical faults and can be traced back to faulty electrics 99% of the time. Or fuel supply but fuel supply problems are normaly noticed at high rpm not low. If your bike has the restriction in the exhaust removing it most likely won't fix this problem but will make your bike run better once this is sorted.
  9. Thats crazy a 80k cost to build mini. Some serious building/fabricating skills he has though. The only part left from the original car is the roof Now what the theme song from driving me nuts, and how often do they do a show would like to see the finnish product?
  10. Welcome, bike looks original has it been restored?
  11. Do some digging around on the utube and find out what you realy want to do with the ports,, to smooth and you make it slower on the intake side you actualy want to increas the surface area with some roughining, exhaust side polish it like chrome. But you want to do all this before you put the valve's back in as you want to clean it 120% of all debrese
  12. On my old 81 I pulled the baffels and replaced them with some alui pipe from a lawn chair and drilled as many holes as I could and didn't have to rejet. See a few guys run without baffels but I think thier bikes were slower as they wern't getting the back pressure and scavenging effect the baffels help with. Plug chop run bike to full rpm in top gear kill ignition and at the same time pull in clutch, stop and pull spark plugs and see if the are coffey colour or white coffey is good white is bad(lean)
  13. It's a rare collector who want's it..... not a rare collectable who in thier right mind would pay that? I still don't get why anyone would want a moped for anything. You can buy a kit for $200.00 bucks to turn a peddle bike into a 50cc 2t and a good new bike is better built than a old moped,as well here you don't need any licence or insurance to drive one.http://www.motorizedbicycle.ca/
  14. LOL farmers need tractors to plow fields, and if you turn the exhaust down on a hardley they sweep the road quite well of dirt. Moving so slllooowly and pumping big cc's of air,the motors also make for a good home made compressor LOL.Honestly I have nothing against hardley's but I would never own one,had too many friends who did and the repair bills and how often they were broke down is enough alone to turn me off. A 250 in a 175 frame is not much of a strech as the weight is simmilar and easlie compensated for,it's not like your adding 4x the weight of motor.
  15. I get what your both sayin, but it is probably closer to ten grand,to build it with the chroming and amount of machining to get 4 eng's fitted together and you still have a moped's handeling ( read crap) and my 250 will blow it away, run in mud and jump. I just think if your going to build something then make it worth it,as in handel better, stop better, power is nothing if the chassis, tires and brakes can't cope.So while he did do it ,it is stupid now he has 4 eng's to fiddel with and blow up 1 and what a PITA it is going to be to fix,he could have put 1 yz490 motor in and been done
  16. I have seen it as well befor ,,but I ask this question why??? the time and money put into building it was for nothing other than to say I did it! you could do alot whit the time and money and build something way faster for less$$$
  17. Hi and welcome ,got to agree if your just using the bike to get your time in then used is the way to go,the money you save can go to getting your full licence and on to the bike you realy want, you will be board with the 125 in short time. The other thing with new is that's it fuel injected so when something breaks your back to the dealer and after your warrenty is up it can get costly
  18. Sounds to me like your using the wrong vr or it's gone how many volts are you getting at the lights? battery?
  19. I read it and all I can say is BUTCHER JOB, the spring is now pre loaded = crapy ride, stiff, the mount is weakened. For the cost of a lower link to do it right why would you butcher it? Do it right or leave it!
  20. ROLFLMAO straybullet I'm sure he wouldn't mind you going down, but won't your boyfriend get mad ,or is he ok with you going down for other guys LOLOLOL not sure how that will help him fix his bike but it would make him feel better. Come on Ryan let see the pictuers,I want to see your road rash, just so I can show other people why they should never go out without full gear on.You should have the bike home by now?
  21. At this point I strongly suggest you get a manual and read it cover to cover twice. The part you need are easly obtaind from many other web sites by simply adding your make model and year. Most machine shops can bore it but,,,,, find one who does mainly bike work and likes jap bikes.
  22. Also if the lower leg is/has been dammaged might cause problems, the seal has to seal not only on the stantion but the leg as well. Spring always goes to the leg(thicker part cast aluminum) you should only see the upper lip of the seal once installed.
  23. I have no affiliation to this company but thought it was worth sharing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu-VZ5K79pY LOL any mod who wants to fix my title feel free.
