not sure as i can't hear it,does it sound like the top or bottom is noisey? The mechanic is not verry good ,he should have filed the end gap and then they would have fit. So fix the compression issues first as it sounds as if the bottom ring that control oil from getting to the top of the piston are shot. fix the exhaust leak

am Now whats up get the bike running?

Ok now I'm more confused than ever you say 22miles to any piont roughley how the hell can you get lost? I''ve never had a gps on the bike, sure got it on the cell ( mobile)and could if needed use it but ,NSEW don't change the sun rises and falls in the same direction. If you go right,,,, then turn right ,,,then right you will end up back where you started right? if I am going to a new place I use a sammie bag and tape it to the bike ,,,,the days before I want to go I just sit with a map and write down the roads #s in order on a small piec of paper, kinda rally style . Also I find everytime someone want's to follow the gps they take the long way as the gps only count's miles and caculates the direction/distance by that.Thats fine but it dosen't caculate traffic ,,,stop lights ect.. I can run back roads and weave my way around city's and get somewhere faster and not have to deal with cityiots who,, for the most part,, don't realy know how to drive. Is the Uk so cram packed it would be impossible to avoid city's? I would think that the bag on the bar end would cause problems in the wind, personaly I would make a aluminum bracket that mounted to the bar clamps if I were going to run a gps then it`s central easy to look at and use it for the speedo.

The rm 125 would weigh in at about less than half of the xv aprox 60% less, are you thinking of stuffing 1 in? In the case of bike weight the rm's motor is not the same % of bike weight biger shock and forks add more to the % of weight no valve train components only, 1 rod and piston. lighter crank ect..

welshie I new you would bring up TP a hell of a rider and from your gen, I love seening him in action and my son's fave rider. Though he is a bit bent considering he went sky diving without a parashute and the gov pulled his sky diving licence, for thoes who don't know.... your not suppose to start without a parachute but if your first and second chute fail you dive into another diver and grab them and hope like hell you make it .TP decided to jump without a chute and go for broke But we have failed to get the decades to establish the best rider.and the only way IMO to get this right is to seperate years or decades and give credit to the riders of each. Barry sheen crashed as much as he could keep it up not realy but he crashed alot, in the rain he was awsome and a joker another fave. And 1 of the only riders(at that time) who demanded that the bike he rode he got to keep at the end of the year Smart guy pay me to ride your bike and then I keep it

LOL funny I have never seen the guy heard about him and the town is so small one would think they would have. So foams you have to step up your game I guess if you want to compeet with that. The big boating party is in pottahawk the vid show up after the one you posted dt tities for everyone well it's noon here and time for a ride see you all later -
WOW talk about opening a can of worms,of couse Kenny Robert's would be on that list but then if you go dirt then hurricane Bob Hanna would be on that list as well,Freddie Spencer the first 3 class winner 125 250 and 500 in the same year, now Villapoto. Can't think of the french guy's name who is cleaning up in enduro.Pee wee Gleason for drag bikes What decade and what type of bike riding, dirt, trials, paved circuit, drag, what series global FIM or country to country I've seen so many great riders over the years realy hard to pin that down

well that's a first when you get back let us know how you make out, i am currious if the tests have been done properly.Any cdi coil wil work and if you can borrow a friends coil's to be certian before putting out that kinda cash,as I said 2 coils droping at the same time is something I have never seen and can't see it happening, Normaly a coil will work or it won't and with you bike it has worked and then not so would leed me to belive something else is wrong, but stranger things have happened. Like the time I twised the crank in my 81 a perfect 180 and would still run and out of some mirical it didn't bend/hit a single valve Maybe rex could shed some light on this ?

Just a lot of video from Dover I found on the net didn't know we were being vidoed that muchhttp://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=port+dover+friday+13&qpvt=port+dover+friday+13&FORM=VDRE#x0y0 but this will give you guys a idea about Dover on the 13th -
Compared to living here you live in a closet,22 miles only get's me to lake Erie to go fishing or Lake Hurron about 6 hrs to Lake Suppieor lake Ontario 2.5 hrs I'm kinda smack dab in the middel of the Great lakes 1/3rd of the worlds fresh watter supply. I can get to many USA port's /city's faster driving the boat than trying to drive around the lakes and the bodar guards are alot more friendly at port's in the USA. But apperently I'm not welcome anymore I sky dive out of Grandbend in/off Lake Huron and at 9999 feet ( not alowed to go over 10 yet) you can see all the lakes , well for a few seconds, when your droping at 72 feet per second you don't get alot of time to look around Till the shute opens then the view is awsome Trust me you didn't miss anything michigan was a great city 15-20 yrs ago now it's a toilet burnt out buldings and crack heads Hope they can recover and build it back up but it's going to be a long hall for them,I've hear/seen that they have closed entire areas and converted them back to farm land because they can't support the infrastructure. The once mighty USA is hurting and the rippel effect will be felt by all, guess thats why you can buy parts cheaper there and ship them,But in the long run it will only hurt your econmie The American's were the largest consumers and now ...well you get the picture. Later Newman and sorry for Hijacking your thread Kev

Umm kick the kid out if he's in universty and let him find his own way, school of hard knocks and all will shape him up and make a real man out of him,was out of the house at 16,,, bought my first house when I was 19 didn't make collage untill I was 30 and could pay for it myself The only thing my dad did for me was teach me how to work hard and fix things and I like it that way,, teaching my son the meaning of a dollar and how to fill his pocket's by himself. I won't stand for a lazy give me boy,you want it then get off your ass and earn it! I did ! I'm devoriced so I don't have to worry about buying her anything gave her a house so she can shut the____ up ,got all she is going to get and she knows it.Got 1 now who pays her own way and lives in her own house so my cash is MINE LOL. At least the shead will be quite and peacfull not all bad LOL
-
More or less than a ton give or take a half a ounce. LOL not more than 150 lbs it's the heavest part of the bike though!
-
Yep it's broken and you can't fix it,remove gas cap and replace everything under it. Given a few more details we might be able to help.
-
Realy you need to double check the coil's I have never seen 2 go bad at the same time, are you getting a pulse from the pick up coil, test it as per the manual ,,,me thinks that would be your problem why 2 coils would drop out at once
-
Bad move puting in a Lipo battery they realy hate to be discharged below a certin threshold, some if dis charged 1 time are dead, a nicad battery would have been the better chioce they can be run flat and recharged hundres of times. We use Lipos for the RC cars but you have to set your controler to lipo so the car shuts off befor the thresh hold limit or it's junk,if your only riding a few miles then the battery is never getting fully stable Lipo's need to be fully charged every time before put to use ,, So in essence you have answered your own question if you want to run thoes lights then change the battery to one that will take that kind of use a AGM or standard lead acid would be better sutied for this application. Nicad if you want to save weight for the disco ball that you want next to add. Sorry to abuse you but thoes lights are hiddious and have no place on a bike IMO EDIT if your voltage regulator ever goes to crap and over charges your LIPO it will catch fire and blow up!

Don't sit with the bike in gear, you can adjust the cable for some more pull if needed, my bike dosen't roll well in gear with the clutch in either, but realy this is a race bike barely street leagle and not intdended to sit in gear. The hotter the clutch gets then the more it grabs. So get used to rolling up to a stop and hit netural. The brakes work so well you don't need to down shift to first on the street, just go down to 2nd and then hit netural and stopie on the front wheel with the back wheel in the air HAHA that's optional. Try watching closely some guys dirting( or any form of racing) you will notice that they never use the clutch to shift up,a realy slow loose dirt and tight cornner we will grab the clutch and bang it to get the revs up and get a good drive out of a cornner, but never to get up from 1 gear to the next, for that you just load the shifter blip the throttle off and back on the bike will shift. And this is the way you should be riding F the clutch for up shifts it's a waist of time smoother, easier! Till you master clutch less shifting, then stay away from wheelies as it's a needed skill, while your on the back wheel ballencing the bike with the throttle/rear brake you can't shift the bike with the clutch, you will loose the power for to long and the front wheel wil come down,or worse when you let the clutch out the bike will flip over from the sudden jerk of power. For wheelies you don't need the clutch and should not be using it your bike makes enough power to not need it( thoes trainer bike's they make you guys start on are a joke and need clutch to get the wheel up for the most part Because they don't make enough power,,the dt 125 is one that will without), I all ready said this, just sit back on the seat and short shift to what ever speed you feel comfortable with,,, bang the throttle off and then grab a hand full of throttle the bike will stand up on it's back wheel,fast(20ish) is actualy easier to control as the bike wont come up as quick,so if you want try a few low front wheel lift's till youget used to how the bike reacts 3rd is good for this, but keep your foot over the rear brake and be prepaired to hit it if things get scary. If you still have shakie legs then work you way up too this slowly,,, as they say "Rome wasn't built in a day" and riding skills take years to perfect I have 40 under my belt so it's kinda natural to me. Someone her has a siginature that say's the rubber side goes down, that's wrong the front and rear wheel should face the sky now and then LOL. Next lesson is learning how to stab the front brake and get the rear wheel up but I can't even think of how to put that in words. Later John have fun and ride with your brain not your balls

ya I could have got a waiver to allow me to pass through, but I left it a bit late,, just wasn't sure I could get away from the shop and at 200 usd I'm not sure I realy want to go,, Lots of things I can do with 200, they can go screw themself over a assualt charge from when I was 19,I just can't see how it's relivant now or when I was 16 and got caught with a jiont, but thier rules and they have the power to destroy themself,, weather is with bombs or finacial ruin and the latter seems to be thier best way now that china owns most of the USA debit and land soon they will have to change names. Besides lots of places I still haven't seen or fished in Canada yet. Better to helpout at home and spend my cash here. Just I wanted to go to the top of the world and the farthest road to the north that I know of is in Alaska without leaving the country,I still wonder why Canada gave the right's to the USA for Alaska we kicked thier ass in 1812 and sent them packing it should be ours, but let's not get into politics or you guy's might want Canada back and thats not going to happen . Atheist not so bad you could have put down Muslim and been in jail for years, nobody has a sence of humor anymore at borders,in 93 I got stoped at the USA border comming home from the Gp races at Laguna seca, and told the guy don't mind the smell it's just a dead body in the trunk,we had been in the truck for days (39 hrs)didn't go so well LOL they searched the truck for a few hours befor letting us go. -

So it was a fun ride then ay dt, I should be in alaska by now but havin problems with the USA seem that my 25 yr old charge cause them concern and apperently I'm not welcome in thier country .O well fuck them I'll spend my cash else where, just more cash to travel in warmer areas this winter LOL -
LOL can's of "run muther fucker." I can honestly say I resorted to that to get the lawn mower running the other day, would never use it on my bike,I've seen a air box blow up one time with over use,not a pretty seen. It's either in a can mixed with propane very explosive Check the plugs and if it keeps wetting it's self a carb clean is in order, kinda sounds like you have a stuck float. But as you realy haven't tried anything to fix it start with the plugs and let us know how that goes spark or no spark.

Call me a stumpie for not puting this together sooner, but friday the `13th is Port Dover ride in here should be 15k bikes or more.It dosen't matter what month friday the 13 fall's in everyone heads to Dover and engulfs this small lake town ,the locals can't wait open front lawns for us to park everyone has a great time, except the cops LOL they are on like white on rice for guns and drugs,I don't know why cause even the HA's 1%ers and Outlaws don't mess with eachother at Dover on friday 13th.Respect in numbers I guess.Rumer has it that the HA's and Outlaws used this as a meeting ground 40 yrs ago to settle teritory rights, now its just a big party for bikers of every type. I've met people from as far away as FLA,CA BC,one guy who drove from alaska, and a guy who was from mexico I like to hook up with a bunch of Harley riders just before town just to see if the cops will bother with me so I can tell em off,A few years ago I rode in with a well known criminal lawyer on a band new soft tail HD,the cop just about shit when he relalised who he had pulled over,as he was telling the cop why he was violating our rights and should let us go before he had him charged, was soooooooo funny the 1 and only time I have had a cop appoligise to me for stoping me. Foams leave tha makini at home and bring your gun tape and cover your if Kev's tent is in walking distance, from what I know your just about the same size as his wife and after a few he might make a mistake Bippo congrats i missed the mug shots, you look lovely. To the rest have a great weekend at squires and added it to my bucket list if I make it to the alps will do it in august/september and buy a round ,I know squires is not in the alps but I will go there first LOL -
