  1. Nice win tommy cool lid,did Hannah send a signed photo. What this about not alowed a tinted visor, here your not suposed to use them at night but day use is ok.
  2. for good measure best to change it again, the small amount of oil still left in the motor will thin out the new. liquid gas will get by the tightest rings, just do a compression test before worring about new rings. the floats and needel seat were never intended to hold back the weight /pressure of the tank in full flow position(prime),you got lucky that it was so full that it didn't start, you could have whiped every bearing in the motor in short order if it had run.Read project fz gulf drewps had the same sort of issue but it didn't go so well for him. Got you PM will text you befor next ride and see if you got time this week looks booked solid and looks as if the weather is going to suck anyway.
  3. Hey your young and doing it now,,so who knows some day your bikes might make history too. It's alot harder now as so many guys are building, well sort of most have walets deeper than the gov and pay for machineing and custom CNC milled parts. Your going old school .... have this and it's cheap so I'll use it...... thats cool. IMO
  4. The lights are bright now. You keep fixing things that arent broken and I like people who do that makes riding with them so much more fun than fixing bikes at the side of the raod. Ps check your mail PM sent
  5. Looking good, but your no Indian Larry,,,,yet... I like how he keeps his bikes simple,,,,but Rolans Sands bikes well just got to love em rolling art.
  6. Re check all ground (earth) wires. Was the ignition switch new or used? are the signals working now you fixed the wireing?
  7. Yep as long as the ports are open,if your bike has 2 dowels on the cylinder then it has to fit with the larger holes,,, if they are all the same size then just align it up with the cylinder base, hair spray woks well if you dont have gasket tack to keep it in place. Trimming the gasket to match the ports is free HP
  8. here we go againhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=qs0qFc-_V5A more bikers getting run over ,it's idiots like this that will never let the rest of us just be "a guy who rides a motorcycle"
  9. Justice is done, amazing a cop was there when he needed one, to bad he now has to fix all the dammage himself scum bag theif got what was comming
  10. Air head went through this with you about checking the crank seal, the plug looks decent colour. For the few bucks it's going to cost to change the crank seals your better off to do it now, better safe than sorry when it blows up from a leaky seal. This will also rule out a faulty seal an alow you to consentrate on the carb alone. and tune it. Paul also did a article about using a wide band 02 sensor to tune his bike,, as your looking to build a few bikes it would be a good investment as you don't have alot of experience in tuning and could swap it from bike to bike Setting up a carb is like tuning a pinao done right it works beautifull but you need a trained ear,you need alot of time and a soild understanding of what your doing when you adjust 1 thing it changes another part of how the carb works,,every bike is set up from the factory to run with the carb for that bike only no 2 bikes run exactly the same., all the settings in the manual are just guide lines.so even if you go buy a new carb dosen't mean it will run right The guys who tune for race teams keep recods of everything air temp humidity altitude and spend 100's of hours on a dyno to prove what they have done works the way they want it to.
  11. Dosen't matter as long as it's not blocking anything and the dowel's fit.
  12. CANNOT COMPUTE MUST SHUT DOWN OR SELF DESTRUCT AND KILL YOU.PLEASE RESPOND AGAIN. I can see it now, terminator in HD right in your own yard SOOON to come at a village near you. You won't die laughing we will kill you in a moment. Get the rocket launcher NOW O Siht i forgot my pass word we're Faked
  13. Typical of our gov,let you pay for something you can't do without informing you,o well your riding and getting some experience sucks you will have to do it all over again. go get your m1 in the spring like january/feb and book your m2 for the first date after the 60 days that will get you able to ride at night, er I think it will not sure ..find out when the first m2 test is and schedual accordingly. that way you can be riding as soon as thw weather get's nice again Happy turkey weekend gone riding ttyl
  14. Thats the bitch about it you realy cant my bandit is set up that way so when i re geared it I had to get someone to ride beside me and signal me when I was at 50-60-80-100kmph(as thoes are the most popular speeds in canada) and mark the speedo in my mind. There are speedo correctors but I didn't care. Just like most new cars if you change the wheel size you have to reprogram the speedo to suite the size of wheel. EDIT I also clock less miles now per year
  15. CAll and book it now I mean right now they are backed up you might not even be able to get a apointment this year now.I have little info about getting a licence got mine 30million yrs ago
  16. See what happens when you start listining to people you don't know THEY CAN MESS WITH YOU. Bidirectional ruban is just another way of saying tape and no such thing as a reverse bearing in the clutch, I have just been messing with you cause you didn't say hello first the INTRO spring mangler comming off was just Slice messing with you to do a hello first no such thing either. As you have endured our messing with you I won't anymore Can you tell me more about the bike.Has it been in storage, when was the last time it ran proprely, have you cleaned the carb, when you rewired the bike did you know what you were doing or was this a first attempt. How many miles since a last rebuild.,do the wheels turn freely, will it rev ove 4500 just sitting. Post a INTRO in the new members section so the rest can say hello back, and give us a wee bit of info about what you can do or can't,just so happen we have a few dt125 fan's here who might be able to give some insight into this,I'm guessing you hooked it up to be restricted if so search the forum for" how to derestrict a dt125" all the info is there.Just a snip of a wire and grounding it. Don't take it personal this lot messes with eachother all the time just hang around you will get all the info you need.
  17. Every rider has balls of steel to run flat out at the TT and you lucky lot can just ride/ferry over to the isle to watch,I'd be there every year if it was that easy ,,just for MAD SUNDAY. Thanks Nigel I can never get enough of the MAN TT
  18. Oh 1 thing have you booked your m2 this is a good time to do it as the MTO has more openings at this time of year, come spring it will be a mad house and you might have to waite all summer to get a spot.
  19. Phil is the name,or Flip as some call me. Keep a eye on Princess auto they had a small commpressor for less than what it would cost to rent one http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/Portable/7-Gallon-Portable-Air-Compressor/8474975.p like this one. Santa is comming and no man should be forced to live without a compressor hahah. Your welcome to use mine if you want to drive up here, just need to bring some plastic to staple up to build a temp paint booth in the garrage. If the cost of gas in the RAM would be less than buing a compressor LOL I know my Dakota would be at least 50 in gas just to run back and forth no real rush now as we only have 4-10 weeks befor the snow is to deep to ride. just ride it the way it is and fix it up in jan or feb when we're waits deep in snow.
  20. Oh just incase you didn't know it's turkeyday drags at St Thomas( in Sparta) drag park this weekend the 8.99 bikes are running,no pit pass needed and you can get up and talk with the guys or run your own bike in the et class not sure what the pay out's are. The Top fuel bike won't be there though so no 6second bikes, well unless someone shows up with one, been bugging Mike at Raceworks to get his beast out but thats a no go as usual firday night it run what you brung and unlimited passes
  21. Why would you want to put linex on it is a PITA to get off when you need to fix the body work, the bike looks good now. and if you want to sell it later might put some off,I would be. Lots of guys are running the signals like the way you have it now ,I ridden with a fewe guys and didn't have any problem seeing them, but they were running them under the light with a led strip for a tail light/brake so they were the biggest lights.
  22. The speed pickup is on the front sprocket then if it's not on the front wheel.
  23. Check for spark right after it dies, most likely the cdi is at fault or the pick up coil is both have that same way of acting when the get hot bike runs fine cold but dies when hot. get the resistance specs for the pick up coil, stator, and inginitoin coil, warm the bike up till it dies then check them all with a multi meter set in the ohms scale,if they pass +- 10% then the cdi is at fault. As most dealers now use manuals in cd or pdf form they will make you a cd copy for 20-30 bucks or print you off sections of the manual for a small fee.well at least they do here. Welcome to the YOC.
  24. Hi larry hang around you will find it funny at times and the more canucks the better, But realy you admitted to brewing piss Kokanee drunk enough I would drink it but don't tell anyone Oh Ps airhead answered your question just look up to the previous post
