Hey remember your not breaking in much just re seating the rings and valves. Do yourself a favor and re check the valve clearance so you don't whipe out a cam lobe and recheck the head bolt torque. Now you have run the motor a few times it shouldn't change much after now it's been heated and cooled 3 x .The valves were stretched all ready so they just need to slap the seat a few times and after heating you head( for paint) I would be worried they shifted.

That pipe is a odd shape to have on a SM and will look outa place/easy to smash up. Pm sent jeff about hydro forming.

Day late and a dollar short but did you try a small nut tied to the string and a magnet on the out side to pull the string through while blowing air just a trick I use to get around tight bends. 2 hrs is not really that bad at least your moving forward hiding wires in the bars is no small job, think about it some cant even get wiring right when they can see it LOL .Are you using all the same colour wire so when you sell it the next guy goes nut tryin to figure it out LOL

He Jeff the bridge in the cylinder port ,,,knife edge it up about 3/16th of a inch and finnish up your porting with a 80 grit finninsh stone you will have to keep it oiled and work at a slower speed RPM wise so it dosent plug up with mettal but it more free hp. And its easier to see any low/high spots you may have created in the roughing stage basicaly your at a stage 2 port now stage 3 is all the stuff I said above

Don't know if this helps but here I would just regester it as home built,you must have enough recipets to prove you bought all the pieces seperatly.If the VIN is not in the data base then you should be able to use it wel at least you could here. Option 2 here would be to have a lawyer draw up a affidavit stating ownership lost and original owner un able to contact and then the DVLA would generate a new one based on the vin. Good luck with it sure would suck if you cant regester it now after all the work

3 up on the rear is the same as 1 down on the front more or less go to gearcaculator.com and plug in the info then you will know .The fz isnt strong enough to pull red line in top gear anyway unless you have a few miles to hold it WFO.The 3 up will make it whellie nicer/easier and get you up to speed quicker.The nice part is if it dosent use up all the chain you can add 1 tooth to the front to mix and match the gearing or drop 1 from the front and have alot quicker bike in the 1/4mile. Stickers are a neat touch.look good on the flat black,I would be thinking the lowers shoud get the same treatment like the stock striping in flat black over gloss black. I realy dont have anymore tips for you about using the gun,its one of thoes things that you just have to play with,it's more in your eye and being able to tell when it to thin or thick and that 5 lighter coats is better that 2 heavy.Haveing the room at different temps/humidity changes the whole game,Oh 1 thing if you mixing your own hardner/thinner buy a piant stick

I hear you about the phone thing every day I find new things it does ,,3 months and still learning,,my fault for falling behind though amazing what a small box can do. For 20 bucks I bought a code reader that runs on bluetooth so I can pull codes and get real time data from the puter for my truck.Honestly it works just as good as the 3k scanner I have.It's a more accurate speedo than the one you put on the bike and give you directions, call CAA, all the crap you can do with a phone ect.. My next build I will just use a phone for a gps/ speedo in a plastic case more or less need one anyway so why bother with both and at http://www.everbuying.com/Wholesale-Cell-Phones-b-22.html you can get 1 for under 70 bucks so no big loss if it gets broken .Most phones use a 12v or less charge so easy to fit..I havent looked yet ,,but I bet there is a app for a tack too. Oil light and netural who cares,signals are easy to see flashing,if you see the oil light it's too late any way the dammage has been done. I would rather a pressuer gauge to watch anyway,and when you cant find netural without a light you know what I am sayin.. Yep good point RZR a little thing like matching the ports(blue printing) is often over looked and so simple to do,, same with the cylinder base gasket they all need to be trimed/matched for good flow. A proper trimed base gasket can yeild 1-2 hp alone with matching ports ,,knife edge the intake bridge and 2-3 more hp with the bottom matched.Them motors wernt hard to get a extra 5 hp out of just by blue printing the motor from the intake to exhaust. This should be a very nice finnished project with all the new NOS parts Just in case you don't know how or what blue printing is ,,it's simple just get blue tool makers ink and assemble everything where the ink dosent make a imprent then it needs to go/ be matched small amount of work = big gains

Better put some venting in the housing they make alot of heat and the fn bulbs cost almost as much as the kit alone. Nice and bright though ,,my 12 has focused lights and 1 is all it takes on high it's blindingly bright I love em they are way brighter than most other bikes. The 2 of us driving side by side will blind anyone even on low beam,the wr Not sure why they bothered with the stock light I put a UFO with a 55/65 w and it works ok better than stock but still weak IMO.

Yep got to agree with sniff on the the water trap eps cause your temp,,cold air in a hot compressor= water. Also do yourself a favor and build a paint booth outa plastic sheet and set a fan to blow out and a furnace filter to draw in fresh clean air in.Clean the inside as well as you can and then use a mist spray bottel to wet down what you cant sweep up I,ve seen so many great paint jobs ruined in the last coat from dust/hair and the ever evil fish eye. Just wondering Sniff why the change in guns,I have a devilibs suction gun and a gravity feed they both work just fine for me only reason I use both is to keep clean up simple,some times I use 1 first and next time the other.I can lay paint with either,not saying I am great but had a few complements and I've seen way worse by so called pro's,,so why the suction for clear?
