Good advice Kev, it may be obvious, but I would add that the pivot bolt should be thoroughly cleaned with a wire drum / brush prior to coating in copper grease.

Well Done NEO I never knew that, I always assumed it was some form of worm drive.......Everyday a school day and all that

Sometimes we all get task focussed mate, and it takes another to see the obvious

Try connecting the speedo cable to a drill and give it a wee turn. That should confirm if you have stripped the internal drive mechanism or not

I've told this story before, but I had to borrow my pals bike to sit my test (29/12/81) and passed first time. When I returned the bike to my mate, with a stoic looking face, he says "ah well jimmy don't fret about it, after all I failed mine 2 days ago".........."Ha" says I as I flash my pass certificate

Elvis Use your bike for (temporary) donor parts until you find the fault. Then replace the dodgy part, flog it on as a runner and pass your bloody test

Shouldn't that have been replaced during the engine rebuild

Yea Tommy. First time I've ridden to and from Ireland and not been rained on, although it made up for it in between the journey to and from

Back last night after a great couple of days. Left early on Friday morning meeting great weather all the way. Parked the bike up, threw the cover over it and started indulging in the black stuff and listening to plenty of this and the good lady enjoying a few of these Finally monday arrived and we popped in to say goodbye to some new pals before heading home with sunshine all the way again....Roll on next year. Oh and whilst there I bought myself a Tenor banjo to go with my mando Apologies for some blurry pictures, don't know what happened there.

Cheers folks. Just finished work so getting my shit together. Good thing is a few of my pals are heading over today, and as they play in a folk band they're taking their van, so smarty pants here loaded our bag in it last night so just me and her and (very) minimal luggage...yipee
