I needed 30m of armoured cable, an rcd consumer unit and a spare space in the main fuse box in the house. The cable came in at £1.80p/m and the rcd was about £30. My mate was a spark so did the job for a beer and cost price for the stuff. I already had 4 double sockets and boxes as well as 3 core cable from a previous job. I wired up all the sockets and the 2 flourescent lights and my pal wired it to the rcd then into the house mains

xt 125 r conversion to 250cc
You'll need to change the cdi, and probably some other leccy stuff. Once you tell the insurance you will almost certainly need an Engineers report to ensure it is all done correctly, and the brakes and suspension can take it.

Billy Bragg - Handyman Blues
One of my favourite singer/songwriters, although at time I disagree with his politics (probably the richest Socialist in Britain)

To nod, or not to nod
I dont nod, I'm auld fashioned and wave to everything on motorised 2 wheelers. Bikes, peds and scooters. Sometimes get dispondent when folk dont wave or nod back then I think fuck em, I've been doing it for 30 odd years and these cnuts aren't goanny spoil my ride

Can you refuse to pay for an MOT?
Contact VOSA, As well meaning as we are, I'm sure they would give you the correct advice there, and you may not be the 1st to air your concerns about the garage so they may investigate him

what was you're most embarrassing spill, drop, fall, crash
In the first few months of bike ownership I fell off with routine regularity, probably why I think training is a good idea nowadays, anyway heading into town one lunchbreak from college I was passing the bus terminus where a load of girls were stood. I'm riding by looking at them, looking at me (I wish), when out of the corner of my eyes I noticed a set of brakelights coming on. I slam on mine and discovered that bus terminus, diesel and bikes dont go. Down I went, up, their screams of laughter went, and bright red my face went. No damage done, except possibly to my pride and reputation

'Tis the River Clyde and it can be. Spoiling myself now but here's a sunset pic with the paddle steamer 'Waverley' passing, taken last year. My wife takes a load of pics from our garden and post them on FB with alarming regularity

Yes I have insulated and lined the whole thing. Still dont think it is big enough for all my needs tho. I have got power in it so I need to get a beer fridge and a juke box/music maker and I'm set up. Ian, I will take a picture of the view from the shed and you'll see why I'm looking forward to getting it kitted out edited to add pics The view and my neglected SpeedTwin

The new one is 10' x 10' and the auld one to the right is 8' x 6' My garden has a 1 in 3 slope so there was a serious amount of digging involved to level it. Then I discovered a gas pipe so couldn't take it down to street level like wot I wanted. I'm in the process of making a portable ramp at the minute

Big ends or not big ends????
Never had it with a bike, but I allowed a wee motor to just about run out of oil, and the big ends went on that. It displayed the same knocking noise you described (although I notice on your other thread that you had difficulty changing gear, while my motor didnt) Hopefully it will be clutch related

Recently finished building my new 10' x 10' shed, got the power installed and started moving the bikes in. It has been painted and a number of security devices fitted. If you look to the right you can see my wee shed, and above that my 10year old sons "Pirate" hut. Got him started on sheds at an early age.

Discounted insurance policies to Yamaha Club members
jimmy replied to Alex's post in a topic in Bikesure Insurance Services – discounts up to 25% for Yamaha Club membersLee Just took out the policy for my sons bike, not the cheapest quote, but for the sake of a few quid, I'd rather give the money to someone we can connect with. Thanks for your help.
