Heading over to Ireland 1999 on my auld XS1100 and I was stowed beside two fellas on brand newish bikes....Look says I we are all T plates (mine '79 theirs 99)...The look of disgust on their faces made me chuckle, as did their (failed) attempts to get away from me between Larne and Enniskillen.... Just sat behind behind them all the way until I cut off and headed up to Ballyshannon

Two in my house and the whining never stops. The newer model a Y2K version is probably the whiniest As an aside, I was away for my annual medical for work t'other week and after the hearing test the bloke says I have some hearing loss in the higher frequency "that will be the pitch my wife speaks at" says I....Mr Politically Correct was not at all amused

As Slice states, you may damage the engine casing. If you can cut through the bolt at the inboard side of the frame lugs that will allow you to get the engine in a better position to remove whats left of the bolt Look up Galvanic Corrosion on t'web to get a better idea of what happened

It is against the forum rules to post a link to free manual downloads, but they are out there if you look Change the oil and filter, clean / change plugs, drain carbs (try this first before puling them apart) Fresh petrol and away you go. If it is hydraulic brakes, think about changing the fluid. If it is drums, oil the cable inners. Also oil the clutch and throttle cables Ask on here if you need more details

Take your bike back. Look on ebay and find a set of clocks (ask here if they'll fit if you have no other help) and buy them for about £30. We will give you a step by step guide to switching them over. Same with the ignition switch
