  1. Under that rule, I'll be riding to work and back with my sodding finger on the horn
  2. Look pretty decent there Wes. Am I right in seeing the tyres are stock rear but a possible sporty front tyre. Notice any difference in handling with the new front ?
  3. Happens once a day around London at the least. Morons half asleep and have no idea about judging distances. Had some daft bat pull out in front of me and say " there was enough room to get a bus between the gap"... I was about 8-10mts away doing 30 mph. I always assume everyone's out to get me.. paranoid I know but it's saved me more then a couple of times.
  4. Welcome and good luck ! Happy riding... (did I really just say that!)
  5. Hate to say it mate but easily done. I asked a mechanic and he said they generally go hand tight with a spanner and don't bother with a torque wrench setting (20Nm on a YBR).
  6. Unbelievable.. !! love the way the police don't care. Had there have been damage it would more then likely have to come from your insurance too as you hit the scooter from behind, A load of crap if you ask me!!
  7. Might be from the metal washer on the oil sump having been over-tighten causing the coil effect. Just my guess though..
  8. RAC card here too, disc lock, money, emergency contacts on a note of paper, mobile phone with at least 50% battery life on all trips, visor cleaner & water repellent, plus extra pair of socks (my waterproof boots are not so waterproof). (As for iridium plugs, understand they don't really offer that much extra unless the engine size is 'large' - hope that's wrong of course).
  9. Totally agree there neversaydie.. reckon I'll be doing mine every 800-1,000 miles.
  10. Best first bike - commuter ever! fact.. nuff said
  11. Have a look here mate http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pdfs/API.pdf CF - For diesel engines!
  12. sod it, will put it on the dishes and solve that Sunday post roast issue...
  13. +1 The first 600 service makes a big difference. However, the next one after is at 3,500 miles which seems an eternity. I had an oil change at 2,500 miles and the oil was terrible. The bike & gearbox felt a lot better after though.
  14. Wagon Wheels did the trick too... haven't seen them about in yonks..
  15. Hi Mod's, The Membership page seems to be down at the moment. Is there another link that can be used?
  16. Dude, it's a worth while investment buying a pump (Halfords do one for £25 I think).. I;m sure you don't need the standard lecture about low tyre pressures being dangerous and the normal fuel consumption stuff - but the old bill can in theory give you 3 points for under inflated tyres too. Personally, I find the handling is far better when they are pumped up to normal. (Maybe a silly question but you got a bike dealer near you, might pump them up for you if you show a little bit of your leg or something ).
  17. Congrat's dude....go get the whole thing done and HAPPY DAYS!
  18. Two chocolate digestives at the same time.. chocolate sides together, dunk and enjoy (no gay jokes pls)!!! suits me sir!
  19. teee heeee heeeee maaaan!
  20. The first one seems to be the best... Funny enough just brought the third one and it's too big on the torque range to do a basic oil sump (20nm) so no good for that but a solid piece of equipment. Have now ordered the 2nd one on your list.. Had I known, would have gone with the toolstoday wrench.
  21. Tried listening to music but found it too distracting too. Had some bloke on a Goldwing, awhile back, come next to me at the lights listening to Magic FM at some silly volume.. couldn't help think he was a prat!.. (not for listening to Magic fm though!).
  22. Yep ... naughty naughty!!!
