Bloody hell Grouch.. you're better off stripping the whole bike down and rebuilding it from scratch!

    Now that's fighting talk....
  3. (Thanks dewang.. it's great to have an honest review. The finger tips are the parts that get the brunt of the cold for sure... nasty indeed).

(Can also go to the Yamaha website and try download a copy of the manual which states what needs to be done and how).

To many people are quick to mis-judge only because they don't know. "We" fear what we don't know or don't understand - it's nature. Generally, it's a war zone out there with us all fighting for space. But there are some decent people out there who understand bikers and when they do do something courteous we appreciate it more. Don't let them get to you mate, part and parcel of being in the bikers club..
  9. Welcome back... I took a 10 year break and there are indeed a hell of a lot more morons out there now - with more to come when the weather turns. Still an amasing feeling being on a bike though.

Don't bother with the mod mate, waste of money and time... the drum is effective.. I've had a little lock up when emergency braking on mine. Renew the shoes, relax and ride...

hmmm.... fair points really. I was more thinking before my commute checking the app for potential hazards but guess that's relying on bikers updating it as and when they can and assuming they are on the same route as me. (In theory I would highlight potential hazardous once I got to work but doubt it would last as the novelty would wear off pretty quickly). As for the accident thing, yep agree with Ttaskmaster on the workability of it but could have it's merits. Will mess about with it for a day or two and see.. as for the social side of it.. no interest - I have this site for that . One thing is 100% for sure, my phone stays in my bike jacket pocket and won't be coming out whilst I;m riding ... Don't need that distraction for sure.

Hi all, Has anyone used this app. I've just downloaded it but not had a proper play as yet. The emergency assist seems an interesting concept (it detects if you have had an accident - hmmm- and if you don't respond within 60 seconds to the screen prompts it sends medical info & location to the emergency services). Will read the terms & conditions when I can but just wanted to see if anyone has used this or the other functions. Otherwise seems pretty decent on the surface with the hazard function a potential good source of info too. App is still very new so guess it depends on the uptake on how accurate the info is. (p.s I'm not in anyway associated with the app etc just seems a good idea - think it's only available for iPhone users for now though) this should be the link if anyone is interested. https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/realrider/id570371289?mt=8
  14. Welcome and enjoy the bike mate.. it's a lovely one at that too..

The YBR is a great bike. Reliability: Pretty bullet proof to be honest. Had mine now close to a year and no problems with it whatsoever. It's very very fuel efficient (if you don't throttle the living daylights out of it.. I can get 275 miles on a full tank which cost about £9 to fill with Shell Optimax - Southern rip of prices!). Speed: I can get 65 mph out of it. My total weight is a little more then 13 stone with gear on and I'm 6ft. The power is pretty decent for a 125 and pulls nicely up the gears (a few people have some problem getting it from 1st to 2nd and hitting neutral - I've been there but that's down to riding experience). Personally, I can't sing the bikes praises enough. I've been ridding bikes for about 17 yrs and this little one is great fun and a joy to ride. The red is a good colour too.. £500 for a 2011 sounds like a right bargain - make sure you check it over properly and it has good / new oil it. I have noticed that the newer the oil the better it performs (nothing surprising there I know!).

I would shit all over them and make sure it's 100% repaired for free mate. Can't see how they could dream of charging you but you never know. If anything they should compensate you for a crap job on their behalf. Nice one for controlling it and hope your luck changes soon.

Get rid of it mate... the old saying "that little piece of rubber is what connects us to the road" is never more valuable then now. Hate to say it but best stick to the well known tried and trusted makes. Especially in this country when we spend more time on wet roads then dry. Stick the cheapo on fleabay and try recoup some money.. I'm sure you can get a good make/model for about £55/60 if you search on the net.

Good video - shame it wasn't really film in the UK (can't have been - it was sunny)... did mine in the p*ssing rain..
  21. Cheers for the offer wild foamy, very good of you... but ...I chickened out and took it to the dealer last week, who did the job and inserted a time-sert (worked eventually) and cost £65 - big lesson learnt but hopefully means I won't cock it up next time either as they are meant to be stronger then original threads.

    Very helpful... thanks..
  23. If I see it correctly it was a two lane road so no need to cut up the biker unless the driver didn't see him... i.e the driver is a moron! Just because the driver signalled doesn't give them the right to change lane without due care & attention. (That's reserved for bus drivers and taxis! ).
  24. Not bad at all.. well played..Hope they do a good job and the bikes like new. Ref the battery, hope they aren;t taking a wild guess on that but time will tell (should change my name to Cynic too!)
