  1. There is no denying that is a sexy machine. For some reason I considered the TTR to be the more inferior of trail bikes. It looks nicer than it's XT counterpart.
  2. No mate a 250 is definitely not big enough. I want a 450 - 600. I don't want a big bike to joyride and be a prick, I'm past that stage of my life. Obviously I will have my fun when the time and place is right, but only then. I have outgrown my faithfull XT 125 and it's time for me to progress onto a bigger machine. It will be used every day as my primary mode of transport. I wanted a 600 supersport but that wouldn't be practical for my needs.
  3. I know but I want a WR they are a much sexier machine. My hopes and dreams have been crushed lol. Seriously though the XT 660 looks like a right beast, the WR's look more slimline. The XT's look really big and heavy.
  4. Thanks, I will be using the bike every day for commuting and probably a bit of off roading at the weekend. I don't want a slow bike. I have to admit I really like the look of the WR's. People seem to be telling me to avoid them. I'm a very sensible 29 year old. I am bored of my 125 and think it's time to move on to a bigger bike. I looked at the WR450's because I didn't want to jump up straight to a 600.
  5. Welcome to the forum, what bike have you got?
  6. Sorry, my mistake. I'm getting tired now sat at this PC. What I meant to say is that I want a WR even more now you have said it will be more powerful than an XT 660.
  7. Hi there, before amyone will answer your qeury, you will need to write a brief intro in the newbie section. People on here get a bit funny about it if you don't. Threy see it as bad manners.
  8. Yes the WR 450 will have lights, the WR is the road version of a YZ. The engines and gear boxes have being modified to be better equipped for road use. WR means wide ratio gearbox. I want a WR even more now that you have said it would be easier to handle an XT 660.
  9. Welcome, there seems to be quite a lot of XT owners joining lately. I think you have got a right bargain there mate.
  10. Welcome, if I was you I would put more than a disc lock on it, if your keeping it in your garden. I would buy a few heavy duty chain and padlocks to secure it to a solid object like a pole or a metal fence. Your insurance quote seems about right. If you have used a compare website then thats the best your going to get. MCE isn't that bad either. They give you free breakdown cover and insurance on your helmet and leathers. You could always go third party only, but then if your bike gets stolen, your knackered.
  11. I want at least a 450. I was going to get an XT 660 but thought the jump to 600 from 125 was a bit steep.
  12. I saw a video review of the DRZ on Youtube and it looked really good.
  13. Gutted for you, I was actually in Motonatrix's shop the other week because I bought a speedo from them, when I noticed they were in the same city I just went to their shop and saved my self £4 postage. The guy in there seemed ok, hopefully your new ECU will work. Good Luck!
  14. Is the long way down that tv programme with Ewan McGregor?
  15. In the next week or two I am going to start making preperations to get my full licence. Initially I was going to buy a 125 2T but realised I would soon get bored of it after a few months. Once I have passed my test I want to get a WR 450. I don't want to get a big bike staright away as I am only used to my 125 4T, which is very slow. Does anyone have WR and are they good bikes, or what other bikes should I consider? I want a trail sort of bike because it will be getting used every day and they are better suited for my commuting needs.
  16. Hi, before anyone will respond to your question you will need to write an intro in the relevant section. People see it as bad manners if you don't.
  17. Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you've got a nice little project to be getting on with. For technical info post in the workshop section.
  18. Welcome to the forum. There will be plenty on here willing to give you advice.
  19. Hello & welcome, glad youve sorted your machine out.
  20. They would make an excellent exhibit un a museum, i would imagine they will be in mint condition.
  21. Definitely a private sale, don't let the dealers rip you off.
  22. Lmao. You need to buy an aftermarket speedo. Speedo's on XT's are wank. It's a common design fault, eventually it will die altogether. I have a 2006 XT 125 X and have just bought a new speedo for £130 from eBay. The amount of posts I've seen inline line about XT speedos is a joke. Also you need to write an intro about yourself in the newbie section, otherwise no one will answer you. I took pity on you as I'm also an XT owner who had the same problem.
