  1. LOL funnily enough it seems to have sorted itself out more or less. It's still not 100% but it's a hell of a lot better.
  2. If it turns out to be wank, I will just change it and sell the other bottles on eBay.
  3. Unlucky mate, it must be my local one who is overstocked. I have just bought 4 litres and even if I don't use it all I can eBay it.
  4. As the title suggests! I saw it for £3 a litre down at tesco! I thought I better share the deal and not be selfish.
  5. The last thing I need is a slower bike, it is as slow as it is I might just buy 4 litres as I am selling the bike in March, I have just paid £10 a litre for the same oil (power 1 racing) and that was cheap. Tesco have reduced it from £12 odd. I'll buy 4 litres and that will take me up until March, I've only just changed the oil. If I don't like it when I try it, I'm only going to be losing out on £6 give or take, so it's worth the risk. Thanks guys.
  6. This is one of the best forums on the internet. I just can't understand the mentality of some people. A lot of forums are just full of dickheads that abuse and try to ridicule you as soon as you ask a question. Good riddance, we don't need people like you in our forum anyway. (I know for a fact your reading this).
  7. I have just come back from Tesco where I spotted Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T OIL on offer for £3 a litre! The only problem is the oil is 10w40 and my bike takes 10w30. There was about 30 litres, and as I am going to change my oil regularly from now on I really could do with buying the lot. Will it make a difference if I use 10w40 instead of 10w30? Please can someone explain it to me.

    Happy belated Birthday
  9. I wasn't going to post it on here, in fact I haven't told anyone because I feel really bad about it, I don't know why because it wasn't my fault. A few weeks ago it was the school rush and I was going down a big busy double lane road complete with artics and all sorts. Anyway I was riding down the road observing the speed limit when I noticed a young lad just run into the fucking road without even looking and lucky me was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Thank God I noticed him and did an emergency stop just in time. My bike just about touched him the kid said sorry and carried on walking. I thought what the fuck! So I got off my bike and followed him. I asked him if he was ok and thank God he was. I then told him how lucky he was and he needs to be more cautious and sensible when crossing the roads. I just could not believe he just ran into a toad without looking, actually it was a fucking dual carriageway. I was a bit shaken after this incident and if I had of hit him, it would've been me who got the blame I bet. It was a bad experience.
  10. I like the Pireli Sport Demon's
  11. It has improved a lot now. I'm still going to investigate the clutch though.
  12. Been 'heavy handed' means being very rough and hard where I am from (West Yorks) regardless of what body part you use. Its just a common working class saying.
  13. I think I will when I replace the chain and sprockets in a few months.
  14. Niiiiiice, I'm looking into getting one.
  15. I'll have a mess about with the clutch then (once I have consulted my Haynes). When I wear my boots, I'm even more heavy handed with the gears.
  16. I am a bit rough with the old gears, I am really aggressive with them and just pull the clutch in and knock them down right fast while I am stopping. Do you think this may have caused the problem?
  17. Cheers Airhead, I never knock down to 1st before stopping, I just pull the clutch in lol. My plan is to leave it a few days and see if it improves, if not I will play about with the clutch. If I can find no solution I will be straight on here winging at you all lol.
  18. Cheers, it might be the clutch going or something.
  19. What would be a thinner top quality oil?
  20. The oil was Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T 10W30, the exact type specified in the owners manual. It is really pissing me off. I expected an improvement after replacing the oil, not a hinderence. Maybe it will correct itself after a few more miles.
  21. After changing the oil in my XT 125 X 4T yesterday the gears have become very stiff and hard to change. It is almost impossible to find neutral unless I turn the engine off. Before I changed the oil the gears were smooth and were no problem at all.

It does seem like a lot of messing about but the site is only 3/4 of a mile away.

Well I finally got round to doing an oil change on my little XT. It went pretty smoothly apart from the last bolt on the sump guard threading, (surprise fookinf surprise!). I lost my rage and just hammered the fooker off, it was badly corroded anyway. I have just bought a new one from eBay, so my bike won't be sumpless for long. I filled her up with nice new Castrol and it looked really nice and clean as I poured it in. The old oil I removed was very black and a little thick. There was no sludge or flakes in it, so the engine is fine. I'm doing it every three months from now on. Hopefully I can notice a positive change in the bike as well. The guy who had the bike previously probably put some £2 a litre crap in it. Only problem I have now is disposing of the old oil, I'll have to take it to a waste centre.

What a nightmare, especially now it's winter. The only thing to happen to me so far is my clutch cable snapping. Luckily I was only about a mile from home and as an added bonus it was all downhill. I have to admit breaking down is always at the back of my mind when I'm out on my bike.
  25. Love the craftsmanship.
