What a sweet ride, takes me back to my earlier years,DT were a great bike & reliable. Is it orignal or have you restored it. Either way, sweet ride
  3. Humphery, How's the search going for your pipes. If your decide to go with a full exhaust system & they're to load you can buy aftermarket baffles that will quiet them down some. I deal with Mike Deluca at Westend Motorsports in the US (www.westendmotorsports.)They have been very helpful to me sourcing & relaying information on anything regarding parts or accessoriies for most bikes. They have a great range & what they don't have they can get.Say a big hello from the krazy kiwi from downunder.
  4. Straight pipes are always going to make alot of noise and back fire, that's why we like the sound.Unfortunately those who lean towards those types of pipes,as you end up putting baffles in. I have a slip on cobra muffler which aren't as load as straight pipes, but sound just as good & yes they back fire. Rejetting may solve some of your concerns, but these pipes are made to give better performance great sound & less wieght to your ride. Good luck, ride safe & saty upright

  8. I live & ride in Melbournes southeast,15 minutes from my home are some of melbournes well known & unkown great riding areas you could imagine. Rolling hills, coastal scenery, national forests with places of interest to check out or many places to just hang out ,have a coffee & sometning to eat.All while riding a good mix of twisties, open curves & highways. By the way all these areas a great for those who like to get down & dirty on the trails or those who just want to ride the road My ride is a 2009 V Star 950A,Customed with studded tank cover, studded mustang seat combo (with detachable riders back rest),Cobra slash down Muffler & a set of chrome dual airhorns. Not to fancy, just I like the simple things in life. Like to hear from other 950 0wners. RIDE SAFE & STAY UPRIGHT
  9. From the album: Show me your V Star 950

This ride sports a studded mustang seat combo (dettachable rider back rest),studded tank cover, cobra slash down slip on muffler & dual chrome set of electronic airhorns
  10. I know what you mean, I have a replaced my stock muffler with a cobra slash down slip on muffler, great look & sounds great ( not as load as straight pipes),more power & a lot lighter.5 minutes to install by unbolting the stock & replacing with the custom. In my opinion a slip on would give a good sound for anyone & easier to remove & replace with the stock system if you have to adhere to noise control by the authorities, this has never happened. As you have probably seen there are lots of different brands & styles on the market, the chioce is all your ,good luck
