  2. Here you go, Its that little gold thing on the end of the speedo cable. Will see if i can find any for sale for your bike
  3. Now thats a sexy looking bit of kit you got there mate. (not that i have a bonner or nothing) My XVS 650 clocks where in KPH and all thats been done to convert them to MPH is a little round thing on the bottom of the speedo cable i might have a picture of it on here i will try and find one if not i can take a picture for you i f needed? might be easier to get one of these than to dick about with changing clocks and wiring? PS.................................can i have your exhausts?

    Boston

Yer i hope they catch the twats that done it, such a shocking event.
  5. The classic 650 is exactly the same as the custom in every way bar the fenders. If you take the shrouds off you will be looking at the same forks as the custom. Hard to find a complete set of them shrouds on ebay. Ive seen the lower shrouds but not a full set. If you want some good web sites for good bobber stuff let me know and I will sort you out. Most are USA sites but still great kit

    Facebook help!

Pm me your address and i will be over shortly, need a bucket of warm salty water to soak it in first tho, helps it pop better
  7. Well done Blackhat! If i was you Grouch id post the knackered Tyre to him for a prize!
  8. To wash my bike i just use WD40 and a rag, If she's luck a bit of water is added before.Try using some Gunk to clean the engine, pretty good stuff and you can get it from you local rip off merchant Halfords
  9. Its not that difficult to mount a small speedo up near the risers, if i keep my 650 bobber (still debating) i am swapping the speedo for a smaller on but im mounting mine down where the choke cable is between the tank and seat as i will be running a webber 45 carb so the choke cable will be moved. I take it you have seen the nice big hole in the tank under the stock speedo clocks on the 650? take care welding a plate over that. Its been done just take care when doing so. suggest leaving the tank to stand for a few weeks with out a petrol cap on to let her air out first.
  10. welcome Doobie, Christ 25yrs of nagging, i just booked the time off work and when she asked why i wasn't at work i showed here my new toy....................not that impressed to start with DT i didn't know you was a Draggy lover in secret?
  11. Hi Si, Best thing to do mate (cheaper way) is to go get your self a Haynes manual and strip and clean your engine yourself. If you follow the step by step instructions you can't really go wrong. are you thinking of putting the XVS1100 forks onto the 650 frame? bit confused as you say your buying a 650 but then you asked about the 1100.
  12. All sorted. Every thing on the Mini works now it was all down to a dirty connector on the ignition key loom stopping power getting to that fuse. So again nothing a bit of WD40 and a small flat head screw driver can't fix. Just need to replace the battery now and tax and MOT

    Facebook help!

I have face ache but very rarely use it, as you say its all bollocks that gets put on it and frankly id much rather try and suck puss out of an infected arse crack than to try and strike a conversation with some of the folk on facebook
  14. Hi chap, nip onto amazon as they sell Haynes manwell's for the draggy on there and are good price too. As Tasky suggested ping up some pics so we can see what your drama is and could poss advise better.
  15. Correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure that the bore holes on the cylinder on the 250 are bigger than the 125

    Theory Test

A belated Congratulations Bip. All is good when you pass things. Also doing your test on a bigger bike is so much more easier than doing it on a 125, pulling away is less hassle and you can plod along with less stress too.
  17. Hi Lee, Would you guys insure my bike? (if i keep it that is) its got a FEW some extras on it and im thinking of having a one off frame build for it too. would that effect my policy if i took one out with Bikesure? there is a link to my bike in my signature Many thanks

    My Bobber project

Right, time to make a decision. Now that i have the mini and its soon to be on the road i will be saving a fair bit of dosh so do i: 1) keep the 650 draggy and continue to create a one of bobber like ive been going on about. EG frame, hot shot coils, better ECU etc etc 2) save up, Sell the draggy and get either a Vmax or a different bigger CC bike to piss about with? I just don't know which way to turn??? if i do keep the draggy i will be going all guns blazing once i have saved up, as said new frame, better coils and ECU, one off paint scheme, (poss candy pink and white) skinny rear tire conversion in stead of the fat rear tyre. Suicide clutch and hand shift the whole works.
  19. Thanks again DT, great help. I have posted this on a Mini forum and they have confirmed that the wiring diagram is too old for my mini. The green and white wire is the wire that supplies the live into that fuse and come from the ignition switch then pings out through the green brown (or orange) back to the wiper stalk and heater switch. So.......................looks like armed with your info and their info i should now go and check the connections on the ignition switch to see if any thing is looking a bit tits up. I would say get one as they are a cracking little car but i haven't driven it yet, but so far i would still get one as they are so easy to work on (bar the electrics)
  20. Thanks DT thats great. I checked this out last night after taking the dog for a walk and its not the Bi metal. so im stumped? once power gets into that third fuse all systems are working fine. i don't really want to start un-wrapping the tape off of the loom to trace where they are going but the wiring diagrams i have point to all the places i have checked and it still aint getting power. should have bought a bike im thinking Here is one of the diagrams i used.
  21. Do you know what a Bi-Metal Instrument voltage stabilizer is? and where its located too? Looks like the heater (which doesn't work unless i put a live straight from the battery) goes through this and then to the fuse box. So my guess would be to check this out next.
  22. Right im getting there! end result from Saturday. Battery needs to be replaced as its fooked, Number 3 fuse (3rd one down from top) in the fuse box on the bulkhead isn't getting power, which is the reason why my wipers, heater and washer bottle doesn't work when i use the stalk. So the next question is, where about's dose dose the fuse box get its power from? or could i steal some power from another source? If you can point to where it gets power this will help my dumb dumb syndrome.
