Well, you can either ditch the indicators all together like i have and hard wire the lights to come on as soon as you tuen the ignition on, your need a switch for high beam tho. Or you can fit some higher handle bar riser. Looks like you got the same rear light and number plate braket as me. The best way to do your dip / high beam is to do as i said above and hard wire the lights and get a two way toggle switch for high low beam, job done. I had a set of mini hand controls made up that are on the handle bars so no need to reach down and play guess what im switching on or off haha, hope you know which is which so you dont hit the kill switch instead of the high beam.
  5. I have a set of XVS650 carbs sat in my shed all in bits as when i stripped them down the outter cassing snapped on me so had to buy a second hand set. if you show me what part you need then i'll check to see if i have got it and Pm you.
  6. Year and Grouch might have broken his bike by then so we have some thing to fix too
  7. There is "general banter" (ribbing and laughing) and there is being a total prick banter. yes its a right of passage and we all have been there but i think after the 3rd try of getting his bike up the hill he (or she) should have though "hang on some things not right" and either given it more gas or do what his mate said and checked to see what gear he (or She) was in and told his mate to shut it. Great to hear that you got up the hill Swiftone (not swift1)
  8. Always love these types of photo, such a great way to see just a snippit of what it was like back then. Must have been scary as fuck for all sides on D-day! Least we not forget

  11. I've finally got a new project to get my teeth into. I still got to go down to westbay to collect it which im hoping to get it next weekend or some time. Anyway its a XJ600 diversion which was my mates old instrctors bike which was rear ended at a round about at low speed, its got no seat and apparently the piston rings have blown and its all in bits in his shed. Now for the price........practaly given it to me and only wants £50 for it! Yes i did just say £50!!!! Im looking at either doing a cafe racer or a streetfighter but once i get it home i will decide which way im going with it. It will become my wet weather winter hacker.
  12. Just got back from a day at haynes motor museum where they had a big display of bike road safety and giving out small free advanced riding lessons on a paddock. Looks like my little girl will be getting a bike soon too haha And my mate Doc And the wife
  13. Hi mate. Are you running this with the air filters and exhaust on? Will she rev properly with the choke on? When you "re-built" the carbs did you actually clean them or did you just have to put them together? reason i ask is that you may have a blocked main jet in the carbs which isn't letting in enough fuel to make her rev, and IIRC on idle this is only done with the pilot jets (so if they are clean it will idle nice) then when you rev it, it then switches over to the main jets which if they are blocked your have more air than fuel thus it will bog down and die. Hope this helps at all?
  14. It was time for Father John's Saturday night bath and the young nun, Sister Magdalene, had prepared the bath water and towels just the way the old nun had instructed. Sister Magdalene was also instructed not to look at Father John's nakedness if she could help it, do whatever he told her to do, and pray. The next morning the old nun asked Sister Magdalene how the Saturday night bath had gone. 'Oh, sister,' said the young nun dreamily, 'I've been saved.' 'Saved? And how did that come about?' asked the old nun. 'Well, when Father John was soaking in the tub, he asked me to wash him, and while I was washing him he guided my hand down between his legs where he said the Lord keeps the Key to Heaven.' 'Did he now?' said the old nun evenly. Sister Magdalene continued, 'and Father John said that if the Key to Heaven fitted my lock, the portals of Heaven would be opened to me and I would be assured salvation and eternal peace. And then Father John guided his Key to Heaven into my lock.' 'Is that a fact?' said the old nun even more evenly. 'At first it hurt terribly, but Father John said the pathway to salvation was often painful and that the glory of God would soon swell my heart with ecstasy. And it did, it felt so good being saved.' 'That wicked old bastard, said the old nun. 'He told me it was Gabriel's Horn, and I've been blowing it for 40 years!.......
  15. So you have a spark, Are the plugs getting wet with fuel? Are the air filters clean? Is there enough air getting into the cylinder? Is there the correct compression? Have you cleaned and balanced the carbs? Check these and see if anything is wrong there
  16. Too flipping right we are!! ha ha I never leave my lid with my bike i just chuck my gloves in it and chuck it under my arm. Look on the bright side atleast it wasn't your bike that broke hey!?

  19. Wasn't it Jimmy Hendrix that done "all along the watch tower" first?
  20. The cables will fit mate, i no longer have the stock controls on my bike with these bars as i have had some custom made mini controls made up so had to re-do all the wires which are hidden in the bars. Very good bars these but make the bike a bit more twitchy in the corners due to them being more narrow.

Yer slice you better feel bad ha ha, Yer thats the one Foam, beautiful animals, its either one of them, a snake or get back into tropical fish but that last fish i had was a Burmese fire ice snake head fish, cost me £100 then had to give him to Weymouth Sea life center as he grew out of my fish tank and the wife didn't like it when i let it walk about the living room when it ate its mice
