yeahyeahyeah. That's what I said before I got my Ninja... "no I don't ride like a lunatic, i dont wanna race things, i wont go over 100mph". Truth is, you will Unless you've ridden an R6 before you wont notice anything worse with a restricted r6 (because you don't know what an ACTUAL r6 is like...). It might feel lumpy in certain powerbands, but that's because it's designed to thump it in those zones and the restrictor is just not letting it. Someone once described it like making a proffessional sprinter run 100ms with only a straw to breathe through - he's obviously going to go slower and not be as good as one without this. Also, the thing about a restrictor, is they can "fall out" - Mr. Officer sir... Trust me, when you've opened it up down the highway and your sitting on the tank only getting about 120mph the thought will run through your mind about taking it out. It's a perfectly sane thought, too, the law in this case is ridiculous. Honestly, I ride a 250 Ninja which I find amazing. It's exactly on 33bhp so it pushes out the same power as a restricted r6 yet is lighter (thus making it FASTER!). That said, I bought it because a new R6 was much more expensive than a new Ninja, as well as insurnace being higher, and using less petrol (I get some 75-80 mpg). Ultimately if you love the R6, go for it, it's a great bike and loads of people get them restricted. It's okay for the bike - not great (it's not a beast designed to be chained down!) - but it will be fine for your first two years. And you'll absolutely bum the power increase when it comes out, without the hassle of having to change your bike. I know I haven't really answered all the questions - but I hope I've shed some light on the subject for you and any1 else. Chris

woman. enough said. Yeah, I'm glad the NHS is free, i cannot imagine the ridiculum in America due to 100% privatised healthcare. I had a very interesting discussion with a physio in the hospital though, she was saying that the UK is getting more and more privatised in it's healthcare. It's still amazing though, I can get picked up off the street, in an ambulance, into cast, into theatre, and looked after in a ward (i had my own room (possibly due to my boss buying all the nurses pizza one night) for a week, walk out with meds, crutches, and papers, with NO BILL. I feel so sorry for you guys in the US, insurance and money must be the last thing on your mind that you would want to worry about - not least when you're in a lot of pain. The pizzas were not delivered. They were given to the guys who stored the bike behind their flat overnight. When my boss arrived - he complained that I made the coke "a bit fizzy" for the customer. HAHA I don't think it's one you can dispute. I wasn't speeding, she was at a side road, i tried to evade her when she pulled out, and in swerving round to the right (in front of her) got caught by her bonnet as she booted out. If she had have looked, she wouldn't have pulled out. Obviously driving without "due care and attention" - as they say... Obviously it's caused me significant distress. I've missed on of my A level modules as of it, and don't feel too keen to do another coming up on Wednesday. I wont be walking for a few months, I'm off the bike for a week or so ( ) and won't be able to work for a while. My boots and leathers had to be cut off at the roadside, my helmet (obviously) needs replacing, gloves went missing (probably left at the crash scene), and my jacket's a bit scuffed up. All the stuff about the bike can be left to my boss - i don't care about that. I have to pay up-front for the leathers, and keep the receipt for the claim. Therefore, if any1 has any good praise or shame for any gear, please let me know. As I'm not paying, prices aren't so much of an obstacle. But, to avoid 'taking the piss', I want to avoid paying over £200 for any garment (albeit helmet, trousers, or jacket). Also, any estimate as to the usual compensation for an RTC with broken leg and a week in hospital? Loss of earnings for, say 4 months, amounts to about two grand (£500 a month) So - I think i can file quite a healthy arse-raping on her insurance company Chris

cheers for all the messages guys. I was on a pizza bike at the time. Indeed, it is my evening job, but for a job where I can ride a bike when I want on what days I want for a healthy hourly rate, whilst juggling my college - i don't mind feeling the the cretin of the roads... haha. The good thing about that is that i AM insured through someone else's (my boss's) corporate policy so it wont affect my ncd, premiums, etc etc etc. So i've got to get my claim together. Personal injury, inability to work, helmet, leathers (the paramedic had to cut them off at the roadside as i couldn't move my leg), travel expenses (i'm gonna have to use a taxi a few times...) etc etc. any1 think of anything else?? I think I was definitely wearing my Alpinestars when I crashed, with my Shoei helmet and my Sidi boots. Don't you? :P haha I will have to find a hobby, I suppose, maybe look for a project or something... considering my only love in the whole wide world is riding, i really don't know what im going to do... :/ Anyway cheers for the comments Chris

You may have noticed that I haven't posted in the last few weeks. Truth is, I've been on hospital. Doing about 30-50 (cant quite remember) down a main road, when a car decided to pull out on me and give me flying lessons. Got rushed off to emergency in an ambulance, broke both tibia and fibula, had to have an operation quick-sticks. Going to be off the bike for a while now, luckily it was work's bike and not mine so don't have to get anythng fixed. If any1 on YOC works on anything to do with law (particularly compensation and insurance law) please contact me. I wont be walking for several weeks now, and wont be on the bike for longer. Please guys, ride safe, and hopefully you wont end up like me... Chris

Say it to every1 asking the question. Ninja 250. Dead on 33bhp,keeps up with much bigger bikes, and handles perfectly (if you set your preload right...) Saying that, a good friend of mine has a VFR400, it's very very nice What's yer budget? Chris
