  2. Cheers Merv Yep...the old Beast is my new best friend
  3. Went out for a spin with RoadRash & Camas from http://www.trailpilgrim.com today.......Our mission, which we chose to accept, was to get as close to the lookout towers @ the top of Goat Mtn, as we could. We went out through some nice twisties in the country & came across a road-block.....but as usual, 2-Wheels Prevail! So what's all the fuss about?....Hell, there's still one good lane left! That road had quite a bit of debris left from the recent rain & winds...not to mention there wasn't ANY traffic on it! We then made our way up into part of the Mt. Hood Nat'l Forest where Goat Mtn. resides.... Right about here is when Camas decides to have a look @ his watch (which RR & I found out later was incorrectly timed ) & said "Would ya look @ the time....I gotta go.....told the misses I'd be home by now" So we all went just up the hill from there & RR directed him to the nearest HiWay back towards Washington. He & I then continued on, climbing in elevation....till we decided to call it a day right about here..... Yep....Me & the XT are gettin' kinda used to the white stuff......3rd time this year so far. Look Ma, NO kick stand! We then decided to make tracks ...... When I got home I realized it wasn't even 2pm......after RR & I were figuring it to be that before we even headed back down! So seeing how I promised my little lad a ride today, we geared back up & went back out to Colton to visit my Sister-In-Law & her kids who happen to live on the very same twisty, road-blocked road I'd already been on! He wanted to climb down in there, but I just didn't feel like having to go retrieve him like I knew I would ..... All in all, a good 100 mile day of riding both On & Off Road
  4. Since I got sick & tired of Pete razzin' me about the Mullet

  8. My little lad took this for me the other day, just for Sh*ts & Giggles ...... I'll have to get him to repeat the task for me when I get the Daytona sorted.

    New R1

to the Forum Wilsons When I used to work for a Bike Shop.....I was always checking out the Akrapovic Exhausts......particularly the Titanium model.....Unbelievable how light the whole system is compared to just a standard 4 into 1 header. Enjoy that R1

I've always liked those wheels as well ...... Mine already has a grey velour interior with atermarket seats......& the Enki wheels will polish up nicely to go with a Black paintjob. Back in the day....My Mum used to have a '58 Bug Convertible.....she still wishes that she'd never gotten rid of it........it'd be worth some serious coin today!
  13. I like the one with the Truck Driver! Like the old saying goes:...... "It's far better to be a SmartAss than a Dumb one!"

    The car wash

Ask & ye shall recieve ...... Picked it up from my Brother-In-law for only 300 bux! My Father-In-Law & I put a new carb on it not too long ago & it runs sweet! Just need to replace the brakes & paint it now.
  15. Good advice from Robbie Those fenders will look a Helluva lot better with paint on 'em anyway.
  16. Went out today for a spin to visit some old favorite destinations.... Mt. Hood from SpringWater Rd. along the Clackamas River .... Speaking of the Clackamas river .... Snuck the XT onto a section of a Frisbee Golf course @ McIver state park .... & had to get a pic from 1 of my favorite RD roads .... Then like a DumbArse.....I went & broke the fuel petcock lever off when I got home! ....I'll have to get that sorted....& then onto a spanner-turning session with the RD

    RD

Are you kidding Kiers? What would a proper Yamaha website be without some RD's knocking around?
  22. George.....Being a former 750 Maxim owner, the best way I found was to carefully pry off the plastic "Yamaha" badges from the tank.....there's a rubber base underneath 'em which can be removed with a hair dryer & solvent if needed. As I recall, the larger displacement Maxim's & Seca's had this type of badge mounting.....where as the smaller one's were actually mounted with screws, which would require some body filler & sanding, etc..... if you were after that smooth clean finish. Hope this helps
  23. That'd be like finding the pot of gold @ the end of the Rainbow! I LOVE Grolsch!
