    Viva Almeria!

Looks as if Pete's Going to the Dogs again! Seems like you sure have a way with K9's mate.....probably explains why you've got a few under your own roof as well. Glad to see your GS hasn't been giving you any grief.
  2. Although this new design is quite lovely I think it could be a huge distraction......Can't see very much Bike work getting done
  3. Prime example of why I do ALL my own spanner work......especially tyres! Hope your wrist & Divvy have mended well?

    Lest We Forget!

I've been reading in Motorcyclist magazine.....Kenny Roberts Sr. now has a monthly column called the Roberts Chronicles....& I recall him stating how much of an Inspiration Jarno was to him as he developed his riding style back in the day with Kel Carruthers. Saarinen was the true Pioneer of the Hang Off style of riding.

  6. to the forum CheapSkate I believe Vance & Hines still makes a decent pipe for the SECA2

    Tankslappers!

My mate encountered that Tank-Slapper @ 155mph with front wheel down going through the compression in the Esses's.....which actually effects the rake & trail dimensions causing the Tank-Slapper.
  8. Yep.....Changing the fork oil would be 1st thought @ remedying this prob. The rotation of those fork tubes is also a viable solution.

    Tankslappers!

Depending on the circumstances....applying the rear brake could help some A mate of mine Endurance raced an early Gixxer 1100 @ Road Atlanta once..... I recall him telling me how scary it was when he experienced a tank-slapper going through the infamous Esses's section @ around 155mph!
  10. Yep...Braking in the wet can be an Eye-opening experience It really just boils down to adjusting your riding style for the conditions @ hand
  11. Thanx Tom! A good mate of mine has a hopped-up Banshee that goes like stink! It's a RIOT to ride.....He's also got a 660 Raptor as well.....That beast is a workout to ride!
  12. I'll take that as a bit of a suggestion from my Semi-Biased Scottish Divvy-Owner friend But TBH.....that's EXACTLY along the lines of what I was thinking of picking up for the daily commute The RD & XT have definitely become life-long mechanical friends......but a 6-speed middleweight with the simplicity of the Seca/Divvy would complete the collection quite nicely. I just gotta get my house sold & get through this summer......I then should be established enough to start having a look around for one. The other neat thing about Central Oregon is that Everybody has Toys!.... So there always seems to be someone looking to upgrade their collection.....Thus a variety of vehicles can be had for the right price @ any given time.
  13. I left @ 4:30am yesterday morning for Central Oregon.....had to be in Bend by 8am for my 2nd Interview with a particular Structural Engineering firm I've been hoping to land work with. since my XT only has a 3gal. tank....I've typically fueled up @ a petrol station that's about the halfway point near a Ski Resort that I've been frequenting since I was 5. The one thing I totally spaced off was that this petrol station was closed when I arrived so I had to wait around for over an hour for them to open so I could complete my journey over the pass on Mt. Hood without running outta fuel!......Hence I was late for my Interview! So once I topped off the tank.....I rode like a Bat Outta Hell all the rest of the trip into Bend Oregon......where I was greeted by a very understanding owner & had a nice chat & was introduced to the rest of his team....which was a good thing......Cuz I landed the job! & he wants me to start ASAP! So by next Monday I'll be commuting from this location ..... Literally, my brother's BackYard To work along this congested stretch of Tarmac ..... Every weekday to & from work...... Then home to my present residence on the weekends while viewing scenery like this on the way..... Till my house is sold....@ which time I hope to find a new residence here ..... So for the time being.....this'll be my playground for @ least this summer ... & Without a doubt, I'll be cleaning my bike & Hat a bit more often ..... Just over 320 miles in the saddle that day....which'll be somewhat of a regular thing in the near future......but will be down to around 260 on the weekends & about 65miles per day for the work commute. Man....I can't wait to move!
  14. Check ALL your fuses...& replace any that might look dodgy sounds like it might be a faulty Main fuse Might not hurt to also clean all the contacts in your switchgear on the handlebar

  17. AS A WOMAN PASSES HER DAUGHTER'S CLOSED BEDROOM DOOR, SHE HEARD A STRANGE BUZZING NOISE COMING FROM WITHIN. OPENING THE DOOR, SHE OBSERVED HER DAUGHTER GIVING HERSELF A REAL WORKOUT WITH A VIBRATOR. SHOCKED, SHE ASKED:"WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING?" THE DAUGHTER REPLIED: "MOM, I'M THIRTY-FIVE YEARS OLD, UNMARRIED, AND THIS THING IS ABOUT AS CLOSE AS I'LL EVER GET TO A HUSBAND. PLEASE, GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE." THE NEXT DAY, THE GIRL'S FATHER HEARD THE SAME BUZZ COMING FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CLOSED BEDROOM DOOR. UPON ENTERING THE ROOM, HE OBSERVED HIS DAUGHTER MAKING PASSIONATE LOVE TO HER VIBRATOR. TO HIS QUERY AS TO WHAT SHE WAS DOING, THE DAUGHTER SAID: "DAD I'M THIRTY-FIVE, UNMARRIED, AND THIS THING IS ABOUT AS CLOSE AS I'LL EVER GET TO A HUSBAND. PLEASE, GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE." A COUPLE DAYS LATER, THE WIFE CAME HOME FROM A SHOPPING TRIP, PLACED THE GROCERIES ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER, AND HEARD THAT BUZZING NOISE COMING FROM, OF ALL PLACES, THE LIVING ROOM. SHE ENTERED THAT AREA AND OBSERVED HER HUSBAND SITTING ON THE COUCH, DOWNING A COLD BEER, AND STARING AT THE TV.THE VIBRATOR WAS NEXT TO HIM ON THE COUCH, BUZZING LIKE CRAZY. THE WIFE ASKED: "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" THE HUSBAND REPLIED: "I'M WATCHING FOOTBALL WITH MY SON-IN-LAW."
  18. My guess would be the pick-up coils(sensor) on the magneto.... You're definitely on the right track

    Dark Visors?

Geez Pete!....Again Spain sounds just like Mexico!
  20. Yep....another adavantage of 2-Wheels is the amount of room in any given lane compared to cars. I've always been in the frame of mind to be seen or be Killed ......thus changing lane positions on a regular basis.....With the increasing amount of motorists on the road these days, being seen is of the utmost importance to Surviving

    Dark Visors?

What a pisser!....Guess it's just another reason I'm glad i live where I do. I've been wearing a dark visor year-round for the past 10+ years.....been pulled over plenty of times... But NEVER for a dark visor.......even @ night!

    Hello all

to the Forum Craig Those new Black R6's are BadAss! Got any pics of it to post?
  23. Sounds like a symptom for a possible Bent Shift Fork in the gearbox.
  24. Whilst drinking my morning cuppa @ the local 7-11 today...... I remembered my Instructor was not gonna be in class today! .... So I thought I'd show up @ school & draw for only about an hour..... But before I left, I just had to get a pic of this Oxy-Moron label on the adjacent Auto Mechanics building @ school ..... "Now you too can learn to Crash like a Pro here @ our State of the Art Training facility" Just couldn't resist going for @ least a short ride on such a nice day.... Stopped @ the Carver Bridge along the Clackamas river for a quick photo opp.... Man....being near my favorite river on such a Sweet day, makes me wanna go home & dig out the Boat! Oh well.....still ahead of my drawing schedule.....& hopefully some time for the Boat will be just around the corner.
  25. to the forum Steve Now I'm sure I'll be corrected on this, since I'm obviously from the other side of the pond But I've done this de-restriction trick to a few brand new Trials Bikes right outta the crate....when I worked for a local bike shop a few years back. My 1st guess would be to have a look inside your exhaust header pipe......since you've got a Single, that shouldn't be too much of a prob. There might be what is best described as a big flat washer just inside the pipe where it bolts onto the head. This substantially restricts the air flow out of the exhaust port.....hence reducing your HP Now like I said earlier......I'm sure some other more qualified Brit member will be along to verify my suggestion ..... But it is a fairly easy task to pull that exhaust header pipe to have a look in there for yourself Hope this helps
